I would call back. I think you had an uninformed CM. As totebagg said, they normally send new documents when you make a change.

I think the documents are different then the information book. They have not even sent the documents yet.

Any more word on making these rooms for families of 5, by adding a trundle bed?

Last week I asked about the trundle beds when I called. I switched my nephew to my mothers room from my sisters room. (This would give him a break from his baby brother) problem is my mother and my grandmother don't want to share a bed with a 12 yrs old. Completely understandable. The CM told me I should upgrade to preferred this would help guarantee me a room with a trundle bed. So I upgraded. I wanted to switch to preferred anyway. So now my room and my mothers room are in preferred and my sisters room is a standard room. My poor sister lol. I'm sure she will end up switching rooms.

Can I ask when your trip is?

Interesting....sounds like trundle beds ARE coming.

We are traveling with a group (Dance the World) June 26-July 5. There are many families of five traveling as well and we are all booked at CBR. Not sure if that means they will get trundles and refurbed or a roll away maybe? Hoping to get a refurb room but is a long shot I figured as it will only be 2 months into refurb. Would love to know how they will accomodate familes of 5.

We spent new years at CBR. Our room was in Barbados and we had a working fridge. It was a second floor, corner room, which is what I requested. I love it there but I must say the room did smell musty the whole time and everything felt damp. I hope they get that problem taken care of. The food court at port Royale is so convenient & the grounds are so pretty. This was our first stay there. We usually stay in a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

I wonder what's up with the musty smells and dampness? I've read that about a couple of other resorts as well. If the Florida weather is anything like our Louisiana weather, you don't know what you'll wake up to. Yesterday, it was 60 and today it's 28.

We stayed in Barbados pre-cruise and we liked the location. It seemed more quiet and secluded.

Was happy that Disney finally released Spring discounts. However, unfortunately we could not get the discount applied to our reservation as the discount doesn't apply for preferred rooms - at least not for our dates. Now we have a decision to make.

We normally do not get preferred rooms, but this time we did because my parents are surprising the kids and joining us. So, we can either keep the reservation as is with the preferred room at rack rate, switch to a standard room or water view room and get the discount, or possibly even committing just a few hundred dollars more and switching to Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge (with the discount).

Don't go standard at CBR in your circumstance....too much walking, even tho the walk is beautiful. That being said the AKL may pose the same problem re walking to food court and main pool. In which case I'd get a standard or pool view. Experts on AKL can advise better than I can. WL is a little more contained. Both resort are beautiful. I'd compare the daily difference in $$$ as well as the total. I'd be very tempted to get a standard room at either if $$$ with discount is not much more. Good luck!!!

Probably won't go standard at CBR - I don't mind the walks at all, but it would be too much for my mom.. May go with a water view room. While the views really aren't that great, they do kind of ensure a somewhat better location along the "inside" of the resort - cutting down on some ofthe walking. The total package price (with the discount) if we switched to a standard room at AKL or WL would be less than $400 more (for six nights). However, we booked a few months ago with the assumption that a discount would likely become available. So, what we're booked for now....while technically we have committed that amount, was done under the assumption it would end up a little less. So we can also look at it as we're not just committing another $340...we're committing an additional $340 plus the other approx $350 we assumed we would get off our original package with the discount. Decisons, decisions... :scratchin

The last day of our trip, we don't fly out til 6pm, so I'm guessing we catch a 3:00-ish bus out. If we want to just hang out and swim for the day, is there a place we can shower & change since we'll have to check out of the room by 11:00? Do they let you do late check out often? And then I'm hoping they would hold our bags in the lobby for us until we're ready to shower and go so we don't have to keep them at the pool with us?

TIA!

Yup. There's locker rooms with showers at the main pool.

In our experience, not often. But it all depends on occupancy rate. Housekeeping has to approve it and if they do, it's only until 1:00. Any later you have to pay for another night.

Not the front desk, but Bell Services will hold you stuff. They even have a locker for valuables: Ipad, laptop, etc.
