I know they are going to do a refurb next year but why give rooms a thin white sheet?? You shouldn't have to bring an extra blanket for warmth. And if you request an extra blanket are you just going to have 2 thin blankets?

You can call housekeeping and request a blanket or blankets. I've seen those same white coverlets in other resort pics as well.

First time staying at CBR- booked for December! Excited! never been to WDW for Christmas season! booked a pirate/handicap accessable room (Taking my mom with us along with my daughter & 8 yr old GS) I hear that the only pirate rooms are in Trinidad South (which is the FURTHEST from the main entrance) can someone tell me how is the parking there? do they have a valet or is it all self parking?? Especially with my 86yr old Mom, (we are getting a scooter) need to try and make things as easy as possible. ANY Info you can give me would be really appreciated! THANKS ALL!

All the resorts are going to the white triple sheeting permanently, many are already switched to it, like CBR, and some are still being switched over right now. It's not just one sheet, it's a sheet, a thin blanket then a top sheet. Makes it easier on them I'm sure to have the same sheets and blanket at every resort, different sizes but same basic layout.

That is unusual that they didn't even stop at the Barbados stop. I've never had that happen during any of our stays. You are right, it shouldn't take a bus 30 to 35 minutes to make a loop around the resort.

The rest of the buses arrived quickly almost no waiting. We did go to MK another day with little waiting. Just the two times (of course both times we were running to catch a ADR!)
Overall I liked CBR, but I have to say we encountered few friendly staff there. Passing by I could care less if they say hello, they are working. The food court, almost everyone I encountered was very flat. No smiles but not bad either, just did their job and took the next person.
The gift shop had a few very nice women in them and the last night I called housekeeping for more towels (it poured and we were all soaked), they were wonderful.
Room was nice.
The only plus I saw from a value to a moderate was covered bus stops and seemed to be a shorter trip into most parks. (We usually stay at POP) and the pools were a bit more exciting for the kids.
I would try it again, just wasn't blown away. Maybe my expectations were a little high.

Arriving CBR 11/14 was able to do fastpass+ tonight but still unble to customize magic bands! So annoying !:confused3

Well- I guess you know they HAVE to be clean!!

That sounds like my luck! :sad2:

We had that same type of encounter at French Quarter. Just waiting on the whistle to blow so they could leave for the day.

Good to hear that you met up with some nice CMs in the gift shop and mousekeeping was good for you.

Call my hubby weird....okay, so he has been called that before :lmao:...seriously, one of the things that my husband (and actually our entire family) likes about the moderates are the covered bus stops. I don't like the idea of the one uncovered line at the values. Just our personal preference as I know that a lot of people like the one line.

Again, that's what happened to us when we stayed at French Quarter. I guess that I went into the stay thinking this is going to be amazing and we were a bit disappointed. Couldn't really put my finger on why but we weren't.

I don't know anything about the handicap accessable rooms -- but I thought I read her that the Pirate beds aren't real beds -- as in something less than a mattress but more than a foam pad on top of a platform? Will your 86 year old mother be comfortable with that? Are those beds easy to get in and out of? I ask because I know the only way I could get my 90 year old mother out of one of them would involve a Hoyer lift.

Will a cab pick us up at our building or do we have to go to Old Port Royale?

I'm such a goofball. I thought we had stayed here before but my daughter informed today that we had not. I'm excited to try a new resort!!! We have water/pool view rooms. I don't usually request particular buildings. Should I do that here because the resort looks really large? We'll have our 7 month old grandson in a stroller so we'd like somewhere convenient to the food court.

Cab will go to your building...or as close as they can get to it. Since you have a water view room, you will likely on the "inside" of your building and the parking lots are around the "outside".

Normally, I would say to request Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. However, pushing a stroller, you may not want to go over the bridge, it's just a little steep on the Jamaica/Aruba side (not so much on the OPR side). Therefore, you may want to go with requesting the non-preferred Martinique buildings.

Does the coffee pot in the room take a small filter and regular coffee or are they specialty pods?? I'd like to bring my own coffee if possible!

TIA!!

Unfortunately, faxes do no good any longer. From everything that I have read and have been told, they go into the trash. It's better to call Disney Travel and have them make a notation on your reservation.

We are scheduled to arrive on Saturday and I faxed the resort on Monday so we'll see what happens.

I have this same question. But I bet all the resorts have pods. Last year at CSR we brought our own coffee and had a machine with pods. We asked if it was possible to switch it for a filtered machine and they did, no problem. I plan to bring my own coffee again and hope CBR will do the same. Has anyone done this at CBR?
