Okay, so the last time I went to CBR was our Honeymoon in summer of 2008, the pool was closed and was being built to what it is today. Also, it was before Pirate rooms.

So, I was wondering ... are all the rooms in the resort (not Pirate) updated with the Finding Nemo touches?
That would be amazing!

I hope we'll enjoy it as much as we did on our Honeymoon, since then, we've been at the Port Orleans resorts (Riverside and French Quarter). I think we've gotten used to the southern hospitality :rotfl:

I love love CBR! I truly want it to be at the too of my list for our 2014 trip but I don't think the double beds work for us anymore. Before each kid would sleep with either XH or myself. Now DS is 14 it's like two adults to a bed. We need queens. He could sleep with DD 8 and then SO and I in one bed.

Any talk on then doing a refurb to queen beds?

Wonderful news! How did I miss that great news!!!!!! DH will be thrilled too!:wizard: queen beds!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

We are going August 2014. Wondering if it'll be done because if it is I will definitely book!

I spoke with someone at the CBR (not the call center but on a direct number that I was given for a supervisor) and the refurb was confirmed. The rooms will be getting a make-over and queen beds. When I asked if we would possibly get a new room when we arrive towards the end of May, 2014, I was told that it was a possibility as the refurb will start in April, 2014. They will be starting with one building in one village and will move around the resort until it's complete.

When we were there in May, 2013, our room still had the Nemo themed wallpaper border but the bright Nemo bedspreads had been replaced with what seems to be the latest in the Disney bedding trend....white coverlets. Others have reported the wallpaper border being gone from their rooms since we came back. But, then again, others have reported that it's still there. PhoenixStrength was there just a few weeks ago and she had the border in her room and the Nemo themed throw type thing on her bed. Great description, I know. HA! Here's the link to her room pictures: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=49610105&postcount=22

The "new" to you main pool is amazing! There are now two slides and it's zero entry and larger. Oh and there are two hot tubs too.

Is it a little early stil to be looking for the October entertainment schedule? (movies etc)

thanks!

We are going to CBR in a few days. Want to request one of 2 bldgs. What is the best way to do so? Call the resort directly. Call Disney?

Either is fine. Just so you know, the "direct" line for the resort is still an offsite call center, they just answer the phone as CBR. You are not actually calling the resort though.

I called and requested a remove in jamaica or aruba, they picked up and then transferred me to the hotel. 26 days till I am here for a short weekend trip :cool1:

:)Thanks for the replies! I've already done on-line checkin and can't get back to the same place to request a room! Frustrating!! Will call though!

We did online check in and did not get any of our requests. Still liked the location anyways.
Only issue with Barbados is it is the last stop for Magic Kingdom bus. We waited 30-35 mins twice for a MK bus, saw a few enter the resort that never circled to us, wonder if the bus was full so went on to the park. It shouldn't take that long to hit all the villages and get to us. All the other buses went fine, no issues at all.

That is unusual that they didn't even stop at the Barbados stop. I've never had that happen during any of our stays. You are right, it shouldn't take a bus 30 to 35 minutes to make a loop around the resort.

I agree with Lisa, that is very unusual. I was just staying in Barbados the 7th-14th and never had any bus issues. Longest I waited for any bus was about 12 mintues I think, if that.

I'm thrilled also whooo hoooo :woohoo:. That is one of the main reasons we didnt want to stay there, because of the double beds. It's about time :goodvibes

We are here at CBR now & checked in last night. We are in Martinique 23 & have a working fridge. The room is great & the 3 meals we have eaten at the food court here have been great as well. I brought some blankets for home after reading about the thin white comforters & I'm glad that I did.
Getting ready to head to MNSSHP thought & praying that the rain holds off. :)

Thanks for the live update. It's great to hear that you're having a good time. Keeping my fingers crossed that the rain will hold off so you can fully enjoy the party!
