We're taking advantage of DME and both Jet Blue and Southwest are on their prefered list. So whatever airline we decide to take, Disney will get it off the airplane and bring it to our room. Of course checking out might be a problem. I don't know where the holding room is for luggage. How do we get our luggage there? I'm assuming it's by the check in :confused3

You will get all your info the night before for your DME times. Usually 3 hours before your flight.

When the day comes for you to check out just call bell services and they will come get your bags for you and take them to Custom House. They will give you a claim ticket for when you need to get them.

ex: Our DME time was noon and we had bell services get our bags (including carryons) at 7 am, we went to our 8:30 ADR at Park Fare and were back in time to get to custom house and complete check out etc...

BTW: love your avatar and sig. I have been in love with Duran Duran FOREVER lol

No matter what airline you take, Disney will get your luggage from the plane and deliver it to the inside of your resort room. Airline doesn't matter. It's on the way home that it matters; some airlines let you check luggage at your Disney resort and you won't see it again until you are back at your home airport.

But on your arrival day, everyone on every airline gets the automatic luggage delivery.

CBR has a separate building called the Custom House. It is where the front desk is, it serves as the resort's lobby. This building also has Bell Services and Resort Airline Check-in. Bell Services is where luggage is stored. RAC is the service where you can check-in for your flight, get your boarding passes, and check your luggage through to your final destination (if you are flying on a "participating airline").

You can get your luggage back to the Custom House by calling Bell Services and requesting assistance; do this early, don't wait 'til the last minute. If your room is close you could walk with your bags. But you can't take luggage on Disney Transport buses, and this includes CBR's internal shuttle.

I was also concerned about the walking distance since we are staying in Trinidad South and my mom and brother will be staying in Trinidad North. I called Disney yesterday and was told by the CM that the most it will take would be 15 minutes from the furthest building in Trinidad South to Trinidad North. I was also told that most people walk from the check-in building to their room. There are others that will take the bus to their room.

Your mother and brother may have requested Trinidad North but there is no way to guarantee that. I assumed they booked and paid for a preferred location room. There is a 50% chance they'll be in Trinidad North and a 50% chance they'll be in Martinique.

The CM who told you 15 minutes either misunderstood your question or has never been to the resort. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to walk from Trinidad South to Old Port Royale, let alone from TS to Trinidad North.

also, we didn't take the bus to our room, one of the CMs drove us over in a van. IDK if that's standard or not. They didn't even ask us how we wanted to get there, they just said 'we'll have someone take you to your room."

Do you need to tip them ?

What if you have carry on bags only ? This is the one thing I dont like about CBR is that the check out is so far away.

I TOTALLY agree! I am a walker and athlete, and I don't find it an exhausting walk, but It's probably half a mile...which is no problem for adults, but some tired little ones could find it VERY long.

About a 1/2 mile? Ok, now I have a better understanding of the distance. One of my previous jobs was a 1/2 mile away from the post office. I had walked it since we were at one end of street and the post office was at the other end. At a brisk pace that took me about 10 to 15 minutes to do one way.

Hi everyone!

In just 18 short days we will be on our way to CBR for the first time. Just wondering if there is any special food specific to CBR that we should order. Pop Century has their cheesecake, POFQ: Beingets. CBR have anything that is a must-get?

We are very excited!!

Although it is not mandatory to tip, it is the right thing to do. I usually tip $2 per bag.

They will store anything you wish (except your children) :rolleyes1 with bell service. Once you get back to the Custom House, hand in your claim ticket and you will receive your bags.

Ok I just think it would be easier to take our carry on bags on the internal bus. How far a walk is it to the custom house from Martinique building 25 ? Hoping to get that building lol if they grant our request.

You won't want to make that walk with your bags. Use the Old Port Royale bus stop if staying in Martinique 25, it is closer than the Martinique stop.

Are there different buses that take you like around the resort and then ones that go to the parks ? Just wondering which bus would we take to the custom house ?

There is a separate internal shuttle, it is much smaller than the park buses and easy to identify. You catch it right behind the Customs House, the park buses don't come to that stop so you won't mistake it.

We were just there a couple weeks ago and the internal buses we used were identical to the ones that went to the parks. The display clearly reads Internal/Custom House (something like that) while the park buses display Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc... We had to take the internal bus from custom house to Martinique because their vans would not accommodate my ECV. That is when we learned that Old Port Royale stop is closer to Martinique 26 lol. Also, there is a walkway from custom house to the Barbados bus stop.

I guess I should have added a disclaimer that we haven't stayed there since Dec. 2008. They must have replaced the internal shuttle with a bigger model. Does it still come right behind the Custom House or do you have to walk over to the Barbados stop?

I'm guessing its in the same place its always been. We had never been to Disney before

On check out day we had bell services take all of our bags/carryons so we could go to breakfast and when we came back it was easier to just get off at Barbados and cross the road rather then transfer from a park bus to the internal bus. :thumbsup2
