She's still got it :goodvibes. You wash your hair and everything just as usual. If she get sick of it we just have to clip the knot at the end and unravel it a bit and it will slide right off. I used to do my own all the time when I was her age (that seems soooo long ago LOL)

Thanks for the info. I think I will surprise them with it.

Got back from a fabulous weekend at CBR on Monday. It took me a while to get home/work stuff back to normal!

When we arrived at MCO, we walked right onto a Magical Express bus and were the second stop (Pop Century first). I had done online checkin, so it was a breeze - just walked up to the front desk and the CM handed me my folder (and our Happy Anniversary buttons!:goodvibes) Our room was in Jamaica (as requested), in building 46 - which is a great location. The walk to OPR over Caribbean Cay is gorgeous and less than 5 minutes (at a leisurely pace). We were also very close to the Jamaica bus stop.

We had one bus issue on Friday evening - we arrived at the bus stop just as an MK bus was leaving, so we know we'd have to wait. 35 minutes later another MK bus pulled up, but she said she was full and we'd have to wait for the next one (this was nuts as we were her first stop and knew she'd be dropping people off at the next two stops). Anyway, another bus came about 5 minutes later. So, all in all, a 40 minute wait - kind of frustrating. However, the buses were great for the rest of the trip, and as DH said, if we'd gotten to the bus stop 2 minutes earlier Friday evening, we wouldn't have had an issue at all!

Our room was very clean and beautifully updated - did not notice anything being worn or "old" looking. It was very spacious as well (although this was our first time in a king room, so maybe that's why it seemed so big). The Nemo theming is great - very bright and cheerful.

Food in the food court is good - did grab 'n go a couple of mornings, had a late night snack one night and did a full breakfast on Monday morning. Everything was tasty and fresh.

My favorite part of CBR is the grounds - it's just such a beautiful resort :cloud9:. I walked every morning - even hit sunrise on Sunday - and DH and I walked around the whole loop Monday morning. I will post pictures on the CBR Pics site (thought I don't have a great camera).

All in all, a fantastic stay - I would highly recommend the resort to everyone!

Thansk for your review. can you post the link to the picture site Thanks
I can wait for a sunrise run at CBR!!

jdd- Thanks for the review and the pictures. Did you request a corner room? I think I want to request a corner room. We booked a perferred and I'm going to request Martinique buliding 25..but was hoping to request a corner room also. I loved that layout!!!

I didn't - just requested Jamaica. I think I read somewhere that the king bedrooms are always corner rooms, but I'm not sure. It was awesome - seemed really big and we had so much sunlight in the mornings :cool1:

i agree, love the corner rooms. We didn't have a corner room but my father (connecting room) did. We were in Martinique 25, facing the water. Perfect location.

We had a similar room in 2008, I agree couldn't have had a better location!

Did everyone who have a corner room have a king bed? I booked a double since it will be 3 of us. Darn.....I was really hoping for a corner room if they had one open.

Not all corner rooms are king-bed rooms. There are plenty of corner rooms that have two standard beds (I most recently stayed in Room #3340, a corner room in Trinidad North, that was NOT a king-bed room, we were there with our 2 kids).

keep us posted on what you get and what you think of the parking

Hi all! I checked in yesterday. While I did online check in, I did ask when I got here if they had a king bed room and I requested a room NOT on the ground floor since I'm a woman traveling alone. The gal who checked me in was really nice and called the room reservation line. They found me a King room on the 2nd floor. It is in Jamaica building 42. It is a corner water view room with the windows on two sides of the room. But it doesn't really matter - I have no desire to open my shades and have people look into my room :confused3

The room is fine. I can't imagine a room this size having 2 double beds though. I'd feel squished in here with my family but it is fine for me. There is some wear around the wall a/c unit (like a moldy hole kind of thing going on) and there is a little mold in the bathroom. That actually doesn't bug me as much as seeing the last occupants hair all over the shower wall. But to be fair, I didn't see it until I got in the shower and looked next to me. The lights have all different wattage going on. The bathroom is particularly dim while the bed lights have two different watts - one is at least 100 and the other doesn't break 40. The sheets are crisp and clean but the underneath of the comforter has some sort of dark stains on them. The curtains are very new and so is the paint job and border. The fridge is working like a champ but I have it blasting to its coldest and I have it full (and a full fridge works better so that helps). There are very few outlets (which is a complaint I've had with all Disney resorts except the villas) and the outlets I can find I need to move furniture to get to. I personally don't like having my 'closet' next to the bathroom sinks with no door. So as I use sprays (think hairspray), it will inevitably spray on the hanging clothes. But there is a lot of space to hang the clothes (if you have hangers). I also like the shelf above the rods. It's not too high up and easy for me to get to. But as short as I am, the sinks are at a really low level. I bet kids like it! I thought maybe I was in an accessible room but the shower is not a roll in and I'm on the 2nd floor with no elevators - duh! Overall, the room is fine but nothing exceptional.

The parking is great - it is located EVERYWHERE around the resort. Plenty of spaces, many in shady spots too. And walking around the resort is very lovely and nice.

Jamaica 42 is a nice enough building. All the buildings look nice but they all look the same, just different colors around the resort. From a map, this building doesn't look far away from OPR but it is farther than it looks on the map. It is a pleasant enough walk and not TOO far but it really feels detached from the resort (not just this building, but many of the buildings do). I know many people like that and if you do, this is great. I like to be in the middle of it all (I mean, I like the crowds at WDW!!!!) If I were here with my family, I would absolutely get a preferred location to be near OPR.

I checked out the main pool today. For the sake of research, I went down the slide too ;) The main slide is really cool. I love that it is enclosed. The pool and playground is totally geared toward families with younger kids. You can see the entire pool sitting in one spot so you can keep an eye on your kids. And the pirate water play area is really awesome looking! Alas, I did not try it though and look really ridiculous without a kid with me. And they have two slides - one smaller and open so the little ones are more comfortable and the bigger, enclosed slide will provide loads of fun for older kids and adults over and over again. I tried the hot tub too. It's nice because it is located behind the pool so it's a bit more secluded. I walked up and noticed some folks in it but it was calm so I turned on the timer. Shocked them pretty good - they had no idea the thing had jets - WHAT? It wasn't super hot but I'm not really big on hot tubs - again, just for research. I stayed 5 minutes and got out. I was amazed at how many chairs, lounges, and even umbrella tables were empty - even in the middle of the afternoon! I did see someone with a big dirty towel bin rolling it around and clearing off any chairs that only had towels on it so maybe that helped. All I know is that all the other Disney resorts I've stayed at have never had that many empty chairs. It's pretty awesome to be able to find a spot to sit!!

OPR is so neat. The food 'stalls' and shopping really give the place an inviting feeling. I haven't eaten there yet though.

The buses are...Disney buses! I've found all the buses at all the resorts to be the same. You just don't know when you are going to get there 'just in time' or how long a wait you will have. I have only waited a couple minutes (and I timed it) for all the buses departing. The only bus that took 15 minutes to get there was coming from MK to CBR. I will admit that the bus ride around the resort is tiring. I do prefer a resort with one bus stop.

Ok, so there you have all my first impression thoughts!

On another note, I did buy an annual pass and I had no idea that you got a 20% discount on most of the merchandise at WDW. Considering how much I love my Disney jewelry, clothes, and everything else - this is a huge savings for me. :cool1:

Thats for all the details!

For the annual pass, did you upgrade or buy it flat out?
after my family trip is sept. I am going back in feb to do a rundisney race.
Don't know if I should upgrade or not

clean but the underneath of the comforter has some sort of dark stains on them. Tpe:

maybe you got one of our comforters from last month. DS woke up in the middle of the night with a MASSIVE nosebleed. It looked like a homicide had taken place. I hope they didn't try to clean that comforter and just tossed it, lol.

Hey All, I'm back and my trip report has been started. I just added my CBR review to it if any of you are interested. The link is in my signature. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
