My sister and family are finishing their CBR vacation today. They stayed in Trinidad North. There is a notice in the room that they are painting the outside of the buildings and advised to keep the blinds closed for privacy. The resort looks beautiful.

OPR has already been painted and looks brand new. I didn't walk to the other villages but they are working on CBR.

They ordered a roll a way bed for the room. They moved where the table was and put the bed there. The table fit beside the bed.

Still my favorite resort. So beautiful and relaxing there.

The bar is open from noon to midnight. The movie typically ends between 10 and 10:30.

It is supposed to for children 48" and under. You can usually find some bigger kids in there though, and unless it gets a little rowdy in there and the bigger kids are keeping the little ones from getting to the slides and such...they may leave 'em alone. But they certainly can ask any kid taller than 48" to leave the splash area.

Thanks for the answer. At least it isn't a definite no. I would never let my 7yo get in the way of little ones, but to be honest the height thing bothers me. Why should a tall 5yo not be allowed, but a short 10yo isn't a problem?

I was going to cancel CBR for a couple of reasons but thought the play area was a plus worth keeping it. Going to have to think about it.

Since CBR rooms are 340 sq feet - we may stay there...
But we have a DS age 20 and DD age 17 year old.

Do you think they would like CBR ?

We would pay for a preferred room - I have always wanted to go to Martinique Island, so why not request that area ? ... We went to the :goodvibes real Aruba Island for our honeymoon 27 years ago:goodvibes

:confused3Any suggestion for our family of older kids ?

Your kids are the same ages as my DS's -- and they INSIST that we keep returning to CBR! Lots to do there for them - they'll love it.:thumbsup2

Hello DIS'ers! I have been to disney world 20 times and counting, but the past few years my DF and i have been staying at Pop Century, and once at All Star Music. We are now on our Honey(disney)moon switching to CBR!!!!!! I am so excited! I have never stayed at a mod before :yay: My question is, we are booking a standard room, which building(s) should i ask for specifically? I was thinking Martinique 22 or Jamaica 45. Both look really close to the center of the resort, and close to where we would need to be! Any advice is appriciated because i am brand new to this resort!! :goodvibes

To all - I know I am a little late with this up-date so he goes.

We have a very educational meeting. It was very exciting for Midori and myself. The trip is in June and it is for two weeks. Wow!!! I am glad it is for only two weeks, any longer I will go crazy without Midori. 15 days is long enough.

We submitted our application and our 400.00 deposit so Midori can be scheduled for an interview. So now - we are waiting for information as to when the interview will take place. There will be 40 kid's from different schools in the Fort Worth area going on this trip. 5000.00 plus 350.00 for the airfare from DFW to LA. The 5000.00 covers everything else except spending money. Flight from LA to Sydney, and guess what they will transfer in Dubai. Man I would love to fly into and over Dubai just to see all of the neat architecture I've seen only in pictures and National Geographic channel. Midori is so excited to be considered to go but it will be decided after the interview process. I have all of the documents in order and all of the required letters of recommendation. So here's hoping Midori will get accepted.

I told Midori if she goes on this wonderful trip to Australia - our annual WDW trip in July will have to be a short one, 4 to 5 days instead in our 9 to 10 days and no resort stay this time. We'll have to stay at Extended Stay next to the Convention Center on I-Drive.

Now I am going to copy this up-date and post it on a couple of other threads - waiting for my up-date so please do not think I am posting it to show off. OK????

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and Friendship.

Just returned Tuesday night from our trip to Disney. I had requested Martinique and ended up with Trinidad North. I didn't care as long as we were there.

The only issue I had was with the jerk in Bell Services when I asked if a van could take Mom and I to our room (she is in a wheelchair) and he looked and acted like it was a HUGE deal for him to come over to the window from his computer. Unfortunately, I didn't get his name, only his hometown but this guy should not be a representative of the Happiest Place on Earth when he can't even look you in the eye. Mom made a comment about how he acted from across the patio. Sorry I made you get up from staring at your computer

Had great weather and if anyone has any questions, please ask :)

So excited just had to share. I just checked in online. 9 more days and we're Off to Neverland!!! and our first stay @ CBR!

Some of us are leaving for Disney very soon  We will be at Disney at CBR starting the 12th of October.
Thanks,
Christine

At least you didn't let the rude castmember ruin your vacation. :thumbsup2 I've seen other castmembers happily lugging around suitcases and helping guests every time we have stayed there. Too bad you didn't get him name so you could complain.

Since you have the exact date & time + hometown you probably could still lodge a complaint. I bet they could easily figure out who it was w/that info.
Only way they are going to know they have a bad apple is if someone tells them. (Of course maybe he was just having a bad day :confused3 but still, no excuse to act that way to a paying customer).

We fly out this Sunday!! :yay: Planning to have a pool day since our luggage wont arrive for a couple of hours. We have a preferred room on the first floor. QUESTION is, is there enough room to get a cot? We did request bed rails for my 2.5 year old but with the full size beds, I may end up sleeping with him. My husband is 6'1 and we already know a full size won't cut it for the both of us. Has anyone been able to use a rollaway bed/cot in CBR?

First off, I am so jealous of all of you who are leaving soon. I have 3 + months to wait. This will be our 1st stay at a moderate level resort and we are very excited about it:banana: Thank you to everyone for the wonderful pictures and information and keep it coming!!! I keep looking at the other resorts but I think my family will be most happy with theme of CBR. My only concern is the bed. Any word on the status of the queen beds at this resort? Two people in a double beds is pretty tight!:rolleyes1

There is definitely enough room for a cot. We brought along a twin size blow up mattress so that our son wouldn't have to sleep in the bed with his sister. There was plenty of room for the mattress in between the bed and the door. During the day, we simply propped it up against the wall.

Hi everyone! I have a question about sleeping arrangements for a baby & toddler. We have a trip planned for next Oct 2012. Crossing my fingers that some sort of code/discount comes out so we are able to stay at CBR!! Anyway. We will be bringing our two children on this trip. One will be about 2.5 by then and the other will be just 7 months old. (I'm pregnant now!) I know I can rent a crib/pack & play for the baby right? What about my toddler? She will be in a toddler bed by then, but I don't know how "safe" I would feel if she was just to sleep in the double bed, without any rails or anything. Any suggestions? TIA!!!

I know at the Values we were able to get bed rails at no charge. I am sure it's the same at CBR. You just have to request them.
