Which is the best for a preferred room Martinque or Trinidad North ? Which is the prettiest village ? I have been looking at photos and Martinque looks like the closest but not as pretty as the others ? We are thinking of booking a preferred room but looking at the photos Jamaica looks really nice. We have never stayed here before so we would love to hear what you think . Anyone that knows the CBR whats your opinion on this ?

Thanks for viewing our video. We have never stayed in a perferred room since we are always at the parks. We stayed in Martinique 21 and had a view of the little court yard area. So, sorry we can't help you to much.

Ok thanks anyway, we are planning on spending a whole day at the resort and we really dont want to walk a lot after getting back from the parks. So we have decided to go with preferred.

I can't tell any difference between the "prettiness" of the villages beyond the color scheme. Otherwise, they're all kinda the same. Beyond colors, I submit to you that if one village looks prettier than another it is due to the skill of the photographer who took the prettier pictures.

If you pay for a preferred room you're paying for a shorter walk to Old Port Royale, the complex that has the main pool, food court, restaurant, shops, arcade, outdoor bar, boat rentals, etc. You're not paying for a "nicer" or prettier area.

The closest Martinique building, 26, is ever so slightly closer to Old Port Royale than is the closest Trinidad North building, 31. But then again it all depends what you want out of OPR. Martinique is closer to the food court side, but Trinidad North is closer to the main pool side. But then again, the differences are tiny, so I really wouldn't put a lot of stock in choosing one over the other.

Yes I know a preferred is because they are closer to the main buildings. Thanks that helped a lot :)

We just returned from CBR - did not request a preferred room, but did request "close to transportation" (this is a request option when you do online check-in). We were in Aruba building 56 - very close to the bus stop, and still not too far from Old Port Royale. If you intend to spend most of your time in the parks, I highly recommend requesting a room close to transportation. I'll also mention that we made 2 other requests - ground floor and connecting rooms - all requests were fulfilled.

We were really pleased with everything at CBR. Mousekeeping did a great job, everything seemed well-maintained, and every CM we dealt with was very pleasant and helpful. We did not eat at Shutters because all the negative reviews scared us away (and it always appeared to be empty) - but the CS options were very good. Everything we tried was very tasty and fresh. Loved the breakfast quesadilla!

The bus service was also very good. Only once did we wait very long for a bus, and the driver indicated there had been a delay for the other driver so he had been re-routed.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and will plan to return someday to CBR!

Good Evening - We agree with all of your comments about CBR. We have enjoyed the room, food, CM's and the overall atmosphere. The bus service was outstanding too. :cool1::banana::cool1:

So am I the only one amazed by the interactive bus system? I've read bits & pieces about how they monitor & adjust constantly. There really is no 'fixed' routes since a bus can be changed up just like that w/a call from the command center?

OK - guess my geekness is showing . But that logistical type of stuff just fascinates me.

I agree, it's a fascinating system...now just imagine an airline operating the same way!

So CBR does not share bus transportation with any other resort ? That is always nice when you do not have to stop at other resorts :)

Correct, it doesn't share. The only other resorts that can say that are Saratoga Springs Resort, Coronado Springs Resort and Pop Century.

However, to be fair, I have to point out that the CBR buses stop at 7 stops within CBR before going to the designated park. SSR and CSR also have multiple internal stops. Pop is the only resort that doesn't share buses AND has only one stop within the resort itself.

But none of that really matters. The bus system is great, no matter which resort you stay at.

Just got back yesterday. We did not do preferred. We were in Jamaica 44 with a lovely view of the courtyard. We requested ground floor and connecting which both were met, didn't do online check-in. We were steps away from the quiet pool, a 1 minute walk from the bus stop, and very close to the bridge over to OPR. Jamaica is the first stop when the busses come in the back which happens from every park except MK where they come in the front and it's second to last stop. Not sure about the DTD bus. The opposite was true for pickup, second to last pickup usually for most parks, first pickup for MK. We request a pack n play at check in as I had forgotten and it was already in our room when we arrived. Mousekeeping was wonderful. They were very prompt when we requested a toothbrush because my mom forgot hers and more coffee. Food court variety is awesome for lunch and breakfast (didn't do dinner). my DH and I would take orders and go get breakfast for our party of 8 each morning. They have to go lids and large bags at checkout which made it super easy. Any other questions? It's all fresh in my mind!

Did you use Magic Express ? If you did do you have to walk to the custom house when leaving ? It just looks like it is a long way to where ME picks up.

Yes, we did. The night before your leave (or the morning if you aren't leaving early) call Bell services and they send a van to get you and your luggage and they take you to the custom house. This was a little unclear in the literature, we ended up hauling our luggage to the bus stop and they got us from there. After check-in you can take the internal bus from the customs house to your bus stop.

Ok thanks I was wondering how they did that :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if there is a height/age restriction on the pirate play area at the pool or at the new playground. My DS will be 10 at the time, and my DD will be 8, but she is "special needs" and would still love to play. And usually my DS plays with her.
TIA!!

Hey there,

We've been planning our trip for a year and got free dining from 13th to 20th at POFQ. We are arriving starting the 10th, and if we switch to CBR, we can get an extra day of free dining and also 25 % off the first two nights with a PIN, which saves us $266 over POFQ. The sticking point - we absolutely LOVE POFQ, and though I think we're going to make the switch, I am trying to get excited about it.

CBR has been on our radar in the past to try - especially since the room refurb. I don't like going to a bigger resort with so many bus stops, and I don't like losing out on Queen size beds. But - I do think there's some awesome features to CBR - the pool looks like DD8 will love it. (She's been sort of into pirates lately.) I also think the playgrounds and the grounds in general will be a big plus.

So, CBR lovers - pump me up - what one thing should I most be looking forward to?

And riddle me this...if I need to go to Guest Services, do I really have to find my way all the way to the Custom House? I know that when we switch from Room Only to Package we will have to go to the front. Is the only way to get there the internal shuttle? How early do they run?

I don't want a Pirate room, or a preferred room. (Paying the extra defeats the purpose of switching resorts.) I'm looking over the map and thinking Buildings 45, 44, 46 in Jamiaca look like prime locales for a standard room. (Close to a bus stop that is first stop for many buses, also close to the Old Port Royale.) Am I missing a better location?

Thanks everyone!
