We miss CBR very much, just keep posting and talking about it. We'll keep dreaming as if we were still there. :lmao:

Got in last night. We stayed at CBR (for the third time) during the first half of our vacation -- Aug 26-31. We had a great stay! :goodvibes Everything was wonderful. The room was clean and nice. The grounds were beautiful and the pools were fabulous!! We got our request of a 2nd floor room. Thankfully, as we saw many little creatures everywhere and I don't think I would want to be in a first floor room. Buses were excellent except for one day coming back from DHS in the middle of the afternoon, we had to wait at least 30 minutes for a bus.

I took tons of pictures and will do a full CBR report later this week.

Glad you had a great trip! Can't wait to see more of your pictures!! :cool1:

Ok after reading posts and someone actually seeing a snake go into someones room I have to ask... People who have been on the first floor have you had any problems? I am deathly afraid of snakes. If one was in our room OMG I would be heading home. I have requested a ground floor room because we have 2 little ones and a double stroller. But I'm thinking maybe I should switch? Is it less common for them to get into a second floor room? Also why on earth would they be able to get into your room under the door? Thanks

We were on the first floor for 10 days this year. With a stroller, having a first floor room would definitely be more convenient for you. The only thing that came under our door was pizza place flyers. ;)

So glad to hear that you had another great stay at the CBR Shelly. Of course, I'm looking forward to seeing all of your pictures.

We've been to the CBR six times with four of those times being in a ground floor room. We have never had or seen a snake going into a room.

Thank You I feel a bit better. This is our first time staying in a mod and on the first floor. I was about to bite the bullet and change resorts but my kids really want to stay @ CBR.

I wouldn't worry too much. Like I've said, we have not had any snake problems during any of our stays. The only wildlife we see are bunnies, squirrels and ducks.

I was the one who saw the snake go under the door and honestly I think we scared it as much as it scared me and it just went under the first thing it could which was the door. Pest Management was there within 15 minutes to remove the snake which I thought was really quick. We stayed on the first floor for 14 nights and it was the only snake I saw. I also have a snake phobia, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay on the first floor at CBR again. The pizza flyers on the other hand were much more prevelant.

We had a room on the backside of one of the All Stars and my DH swears he saw a crocc coming out of the swamp behind the building! They do have some big bugs down there in FL but I have never seen the roaches everyone is talking about.

The thing about snakes is that they are going to be found just about anywhere even remotely close to wooded, swampy, and other areas of that type. They are probably occasionally seen at all of the Disney resorts. Also, I don't think being on a second floor would make that much of a difference. We've had a snake come down our chimney once at home.

I'm not saying that to freak you out, but more to say - don't worry. Snakes don't really want to be around people. It probably went under the door because it became aware of the people outside.

A side note - thanks to all who answered on the bus info! :goodvibes

We were originally scheduled to stay at CBR for two nights before our Disney Dream Cruise, however, we had to cancel our cruise because I'm pregnant and DCL has a 24 week rule.

So we decided to extend our CBR reservations and just spend Thanksgiving at WDW.

I have a question - I had already made my magnets for our Cruise Ship Room Door and some of them will work for WDW. Are the doors at CBR magnetic?

Thanks for the help. I just hate to waste my magnets after working so hard on them.

Allison

I hope your magnets don't go for a walk!

Yes they are!!! I put magnets up on the doors every trip we go on! Congrats on the baby!!!

This will be my first stay at the CBR with a rented scooter for my Mom.
Where do people usually park them for charging? In the room....or is there any place to charge them on the sidewalk outside the room?

TIA :)
My dad drove his scooter into his room each night to recharge it.

Hello Everyone - Wish us luck. My DD 11 People to People Ambassador Program meeting for the Australia's exchange student summer program orientation is this Saturday at 5:00 PM at UTA.

We arrived home this week after staying at CBR for 8 nights. I was SO looking forward to going back after such a wonderful stay last year. Unfortunately, our stay wasn't as great this year. :sad1: I would say the reason for this was mainly location, the neighbors we had, and the building we were in needing a bit of refurb.

I had requested Jamaica 45 or 46, but when I checked in we had been put in bldg. 41 (farthest bldg. from the bridge to OPR). I knew that my request was just that, a request, but I decided to ask if there was anything closer available. After a bit of checking, she found Aruba 51. We headed over there and as soon as we walked in the room, I thought it smelled of stale smoke or maybe just musty. My 5 year old's first words when he walked in were, "It smells like peanuts in here." So, whatever the smell was, we decided we couldn't deal with it for 8 days.

We headed back to the custom house and a very nice CM apologized and upgraded us for free. :thumbsup2 She put us in a water view room in Trinidad North. It was very kind of her and totally unexpected! The unfortunate part was that even though it was an upgrade, I just didn't care for the location. Silly, I know, and totally not CBR's fault! But, the building (32) we were in I thought needed a bit of a refurb. The paint on the sidewalks was removed in different places and the paint on the doors needed to be redone. It just looked dirty and unkempt due to these things. After a hard rain one day, there was paint bubbled up in front of all the doors facing the water in our building. Not sure why this was because I looked at other areas and they did not have this same problem. Honestly, this time the buildings just seemed like a run down motel. It did not seem this way last year so maybe they just need to use some fresh paint on Building 32!

The other part that was a bit of a problem was that our neighbors decided to leave their trash outside their door every night. A few times we also found them sitting on their chairs on the sidewalk smoking (sorry, but we are not smokers so this bothered us). We actually found a bunch of people smoking outside their room rather than in the designated smoking areas.

Also, 2 or 3 nights of our trip the pool and hot tub were closed because they were power washing the deck. That also was a bit of a bummer because after a long day of walking, my husband and I really were looking forward to sitting in the hot tub.

I wish I could give a more favorable review, but I can't. I honestly wonder if we would have had a completely different stay if we had just stayed in the original Jamaica room they had given us. Oh well. We will never know.

TaraBara, I'm sorry that your most recent stay at the CBR wasn't the greatest. We stayed in Jamaica 41 this past May and didn't have any problem with the location. I wonder if possibly the guest before you had smoked in the room (or even possibly the mousekeeper) and that's why the smell was there?

I had an online chat with a castmember who said they were in the process of painting some of the buildings so maybe Trinidad North is next in line. Sounds like it may need to be.
