I think trying to get buses back to any resort at park closing or right after a nighttime event is the same for all resorts. We had long waits for buses and standing room only going back at the end of the day to AKL in December.

I agree! NO matter which resort we were staying at we just end up having the same issues... PEOPLE STAY LATE... soooo PEOPLE are on the buses... plain and simple... just count on waiting and remember if your children are getting tired and you will have to carry them... GET OUT! NOT fun holding them while standing on the buses! Not everyone will allow you to sit, even with a child if you are a guy... if you are a woman, yes they will allow you to sit most of the time.

When I asked for the Free Dining deal using our pin code, I was told it was only available when booking a pirate room--which are definitely not in Jamaica or Aruba. Was your FD not a pin code? I'm jut curious b/c FD would save us money but we were not willing to stay in a pirate room.

Our Fd was the general public code that came out on Monday. Our total at pop with the kids free promo there was 2486.00. Our new total at CBR for a standard room 2762.00.

Maybe under the pin that is all that is left at CBR is pirate rooms. We would love to get a pirate room but not for another 300.00 for the 10 days we are there.

I just switced my kids free package at pop to CBR with free dining. I asked for either Aruba or Jamicia. I didn't ask for a specific building number. Has anyone stayed at the furthest end of either ? Is it still pretty close to the main area?
Thanks

We've been in Jamaica Bldg. 41 twice and it's the furthest building in the village from Old Port Royale. Our walk to the OPR took us about 5 minutes. The walk to the bus stop was just a few minutes.

I have stayed at SSR a few times and always end up the furthest away and yes that is a hike. But not bad I think maybe 10 minute walk. So I can take on a 5 minute no problem.
Thanks

Can you request a corner room ????
Do they have more space or does it just seam that way ???

We've been in a corner room before and, while they weren't actually larger than the other rooms, it seemed as if it were to us. I think it's because there's two windows and it appears more open.

My 76 year old mother had no problems at all walking from Jamaica 41 to Old Port Royale either so I think you'll be good to go.:thumbsup2

The giving up your seat on the bus thing at Disneyworld can be very subjective. You have to keep in mind this isn't public transportation. Most people there are spending $1000's of dollars to be there on vacation. So if I've been waiting 30mins for a bus and get a seat should I have to give up my seat for someone who just came walking up and was the last person on the bus, just because I appear to be more physically capable of standing? That person does have the option of waiting for the next bus just like I did so they can be first on and have a seat. Sometimes I give up my seat and sometimes I don't, depends on the situation. But I don't feel someone thats had a lengthy wait for the bus and is paying $1000's to be there on "vacation" should be obilgated to give up their seat.

If one was staying one night, and did not care if the food court was a far walk, which is the best building to ask for? We probably won't even bother eating there, just in the parks. But we will for sure use the toddler friendly pool area, and the buses. Where would you request?

The bus stops are a non-issue they are at every group of buildings. The pool area is right beside the food court building. You don't want to be in Trinidad south or Barbados, but other than that all the other areas are a short walk. Pay for a preffered if you want a really short walk.

I did not realize I had put YOUR name on that post... really... like EVERYONE is NOT paying 1000's of dollars????? BEING nice... is BEING NICE.... SORRY if I OFFENDED YOU! I was NOT speaking to ANYONE in particular... but is the shoe fits and you are sensitive to the issue or feeling guilty... no need to get snarky and quote me with your response... I was simply stating facts and letting newbies know that it is a possibility that they will get crowded AND they could possibly hold their children while standing. I KNOW it is NOT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION... Got the hint about the 40 or 50th time I got on one of those buses labeled Walt Disney World.... Geeeesh... where did FRIENDLY people go on this board???? MOST are very sweet then you get these that quote you when you are helping others and chew you out!:headache:

Wow! It's okay! I think that poster was just reminding you that not everyone will or can give up their seats. I think it's just a reminder that not all disabilities are visible! Yes, it would be nice if people were all around nicer... but there are lots of crowds, there are lots of people of all kinds!

I realise its hard to tell from a message board post or e-mail the context in which a message is ment to be read. You obviously didn't read mine the way it was intended. It was not directed at anyone in particular and I was just simply offering up another point of view to add to the existing conversation. There are alot of people who understand what I'm referring to and don't bring it up because they don't want to get flamed. I quoted your post so people would know what I was referring to. Not everyone who reads the forums read the last several pages of the thread when they check it out. So if you would like to get your medication adjusted we can all proceed as usual. Also. it does cost $1000's for most of us to fly 2500 miles, pay for 10-14 nights at a resort with food, park passes, and various other expenses.

Can we move past this please??? There is plenty to talk about with Caribbean Beach. Let's keep this a helpful thread for those looking to stay at this beautiful resort.

Thank you, Safetymom! Here's one of my favorite views while having breakfast and a refillable mug of coffee outside Old Port Royale!

Or walking around the lake and looking back across at Old Port Royale from the other side... just wish I was there now...!

Aside from the nice view, what can I expect from breakfast at CBR? I have free QSDP (first time with dining plan) and am staying at CBR for the first time. What's good to eat at breakfast?

It was 2 years ago when I was last there, so I had to go back and read my trip report! Back then, we enjoyed waffles and french toast, but I really liked the specialty omelets they had -- some Caribbean combinations, I recall -- although they had cheese or ham and cheese omelets too. And of course there's cereal and fruit and things like that. Someone who's been there recently can probably give you a better review.
