Just booked a pirate room at CBR for this October!! This is going to be a surprise trip for our kids (won't tell them until we pick them up and head for the airport) and knowing how much they love pirates this seemed perfect!

We originally booked POR, then tried to switch to CSR (it was all booked up) then the cm knowing about our surprise to be, suggested a pirate room at CBR. We stayed there in 2006 and loved it (love all the mods and have stayed at all of them) and it was like "duh, why didn't I think of that already"!

Now I am just concerned I'll get some pin code or a general public discount once they are extended to our time frame and not be able to stay with the pirate room. We have an AAA discount, dh and I decided only free dining would have us moving to a different room/resort because we are stuck on that pirate room now!pirate:

We are doing the same thing for our DD's(who will be 7&5&11months). We ALWAYS stay at POR and we are trying CBR and a pirate room because DD6 is loving pirates right now! I am nervous that we will not like CBR but I am glad to hear that you LOVE all the mods. Have a great time we will be there in Sept enjoying free dining.

this must be the year for surprises. We will be there next week and the kids don't have a clue. Plus my mother-in-law is bringing our neice and nephew and none of the kids have any idea. I hope they like the pirate rooms :):yay::woohoo:

oh...plus it's star wars weekends and the boys are huge star wars fans. In fact my ds (7) just asked if one of these years we could go to it. He's going to freak!!

has anyone done the online check in? I am having difficulty w/ room request section. When I click on add a request, it doesn't let me type anything? What am I doing wrong? TIA

I dont think you can make your requests from there. We called in for our room request prior to our trip and they had it on our reservation and it was the room we got.

We just got back last night and Im already depressed  This was our first trip to CBR and let me just say I loved it!! We got the room we requested Jamica bottom floor corner it was fantastic.
I had read where someone left a note for mousekeeping about animals and we did that and we got 2 small animals the next day. Mousekeeping was good but not great. We had to leave a note for coffee. Im a coffeeaholic big time and we kept running out cause they never filled it up. I did bring my own coffee but I didnt know that I needed to bring my own filters so I was out of luck.
We didnt see any gators or bears but we did see quite a few snakes, not sure if they wer moccasins (sp) or not didnt get close enough to examine just saw long black snakes in the greenery.
Loved loved loved the pool. Had so much fun at both of the pools. My DD actually wanted to leave the parks to keep coming back to the hotel to swim.
We got an anniversary card and a call from Mickey. This just made the trip that much better. Buses were quite easy as well...we drove alot but hardly ever had to wait when we decided to take a bus.
Hope everyone going has as much fun as we did and enjoys their vacation!!
Missing it already and cant wait to start planning our next trip:love:

My DH and I are planning a WDW vacation to celebrate my birthday in August. After reading through this thread, I think I have decided to stay at CBR.
Thank you to everyone who posted and commented on this board! :cool1: :grouphug:

Same thing happened to me when I did online check-in a few days ago!! I called the Disney Travel Company and had them note my request on my reservation, I think that's the best way to do it.

It sounds like we're doing the same thing you guys are - we're staying in a pirate room and not telling our two boys until we're on the road to the airport!! My oldest (6) is a huge Star Wars fan, and has been asking for a while to go to a SWW. I can't wait to see his face! It's killing me keeping it a secret. ;)

It's official! We'll be back at CBR in December!!! Whoo-hoo!!! :cool1::cool1:

Now I get to decide which island.... We were in Jamaica last time, and I'm thinking about doing it again. Maybe Barbados? Anyone have any suggestions? I just hope it's still pretty in December like it was in April!

This will be our first time at CBR. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can answer for me.

1. We are going with my sister and her family and want to know how to make sure we get near each other. We stayed at SSR a few years ago and ended up in totally separate buildings!

2. Have heard should request certain area. ?Jamaica(41, 45), Marinique(22,23) How do you do that? Want to make sure we are close to OPR. I have a bad knee and have trouble with long distances.

We are looking forward to our trip and want to make it as memorable as possible. Thanks in advance for any help.:cheer2:

The best way to do both of these things is to call the Disney Travel Company and have the requests noted on your reservation. The CM can link your reservation to your sister's and you can request either connecting or adjoining rooms (or just that you're in the same building, if that's all you care about!). You can also request a building, or if what you really want is less walking then word your request as "close to OPR." They will only be requests, but if they are noted in your reservation then the room assigner will see them.

If you check in and find you didn't get your requests, it never hurts to ask the CM checking you in if they can change your room. Let them know why (need to be near family, minimize walking) and they'll do their best to help.

If minimizing walking distance is going to be important to you, my strong advice is to reserve "preferred location" rooms. This costs more per night, but seems like it would be well worth it to you.

If you can't get preferred location, here are the three buildings that are closest to OPR that are NOT preferred location: Aruba 51, Jamaica 45, Martinique 22.

Jamaica 41 is as FAR from OPR as you can get in standard rooms. Martinique 23 is slightly father away from OPR than Martinique 22.

The best way to make sure your rooms are near each other is to "link" the reservations. Each of you should request this.

Hey all..

It's getting closer to our first vacation where we actually stay at a Disney Resort instead of driving one day from Daytona and driving back.

The CBR sounds like a great time but I guess i'm curious about Disney overall during the week after the 4th? We'll be arriving on the 6th and staying 5 nights. Should we expect really large crowds or typical peak season?

We use to go to Disney in July but I was really young.

We are hoping to go to the water parks or hanging around the resort until the later evening hours to enjoy the parks. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Thanks,
Brandon

I can't remember where I read it, but I think it was somewhere on DIS. I booked a King bed room at CBR & I'm pretty sure someone mentioned they only have King beds in one village. Does anyone know if this is true & if so, which village? We leave in 5 days & I'd like to make a request for Aruba or Jamaica & a corner room, but not sure if I can get both of those along with a King bed. Too many requests???

I already completed online check-in two days ago, can I still call & make requests this close to the trip or have the rooms been assigned already by a CM?

I'm not sure if all the king beds are in one village, BUT I just got back a few weeks ago and we had a king size bed and it was in Aruba. I'm not sure how but we also had a corner room, it was great! We were in Aruba 54. It was quick walk to the bus and the bridge over to OPR. It was a nice location.
