6 hours and we will be on our way!!!!![]()
When we were there in March, Jamaica was the first stop. I believe the busses then went clockwise around the resort with Aruba being next and so on.
So if we are in Trinidad North would it be faster for us to get off the bus in Jamaica and walk to our room of sit on the bus and wait?
Sometimes Jamaica is the first stop if they come in through the side entrance and Trin North would be next to last. If they come in through the main entrance, Trin North is the third stop whereas Jamaica is next to last.
To answer your question, I'd have to say stay on the bus. That's a longer walk than is seems on the map and can seem REALLY long if it's hot and you're tired. Unless there is a wheelchair/scooter on the bus, it really doesn't take that long.
In 2008 we stayed at Port Orleans French Quartersand we loved it the wife talked me into Port Orleans Riverside in 2010 and it was even better
.
Now she wants to stay at CARIBBEAN BEACH next trip. I love the boat ride to DD from both PO Resorts.
Convince me why we would like CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort even more?![]()
Sorry it took me so long to post, but I was back to work, then off on a working vacation (painting the house) and now back to work again! Whew!
I went with my 7 yr old ds, celebrating his birthday. I had planned this trip to be all things pirate, so of course I booked the Pirate Room at CBR (our favorite resort), but kept that part a surprise for him. He LOVED it! The theming is awesome, very detailed, and I would recommend it for any pirate lovers to do at least once. We were in bldg 36, second floor corner room which was nice. It was just around the corner from the quiet pool which we enjoyed a few times. I don't know that I would pay the money to stay again though. It was nice to do it once, but I still like the regular Nemo rooms, and I like being a bit closer to OPR and the main pool. We've stayed in Aruba, Martinique, Jamaica and Barbados before and found the walk easy.
I'm spoiled, so I always rent a car when we go now. I'm familiar with the roads and how to get from place to place, so it's not an issue for me, and I'm just not too patient when it comes to the buses, although I have no issue with them. We still bus to MK because I don't like the walk to the TTC, etc. but every other park we drive to. Plus we always grocery stop at Walmart on our way in, and sometimes the Premium Outlet mall too, so it just makes sense for us. For newbies, it might not be such a good idea unless you're good at navigating. Disney road signs do not always specify exact resorts and such, and can be a bit confusing or take you the long way around I find.
We only swam in the main pool one night, which I was surprised at, because DS loved this pool last time, and had a blast the one night we did swim (water slides for a full hour, non-stop!), but he wanted to swim in the quiet pool most of the time. We drove from our bldg to OPR and parked the car, which saved us the walk.
We ate only once at OPR, for the chicken nuggets that I love so much. He was more interested in the "worms and dirt" pudding dessert, in which he lost his wiggly tooth and swallowed it!! Too funny!! But I did tell him that the tooth fairy takes IOU's and has a deal with Tinkerbell. Next morning he found the dollar under his pillow with some mickey confetti!
Mousekeeping was great, very clean and tidy, left plenty of towels for us and towel animals in the window. We were swimming one day and came back to the room while she was still cleaning, so we just hung out and took some pictures of the grounds while we waited. She was very nice and thanked us for our patience.
Any questions I'd be happy to answer, although again, this is our favorite resort, so I am biased!!![]()

I know there have been MANY a post here about the buses, and I've been on those buses as well. As told to me, BY a bus driver, the order you circle the resort depends on which park you left and which entrance those parks buses are assigned. It has nothing to do with your building/resort, but rather which park you left and the entrance that assigned bus has to use. I'm sure they have routes, but unless someone takes a bus everyday to each park, and comes back from the same park, and does this every day back and forth, to each and every park, I'm thinking the bus drivers know EXACTLY where and how they should enter/exit and the route - which changes tho, based on need, according to the driver we had last Oct - who took us directly to the Contemporary from CBR because no one else was on the bus! AND, later that same day, the same driver picked us up from another resort (after our ADR) and re-routed himself to go from that resort to OUR resort!Sometimes Jamaica is the first stop if they come in through the side entrance and Trin North would be next to last. If they come in through the main entrance, Trin North is the third stop whereas Jamaica is next to last.

Loved that driver!![]()
I have a silly question--actually DD has a silly questionDoes the food court have the ice cream sundaes like POP?
We have stayed at all 3 of them. CBR is our favorite, followed by POR, then POFQ.
We love the tropical atmosphere of CBR. It's like a vacation within a vacation.![]()
It's always fun to try something new. Hope you love it!![]()
Hope you have a wonderful time!
Thank you dis_guy, for the confirmation! Magic happens, sometimes! For some interesting insight into how the buses at WDW work see this:
http://disney4dads.com/?tag=wdw-news
Scroll down the page a bit and there are a couple of articles on the WDW "Magic in Motion" software that the resort is developing. Quite interesting since it shows that there are no "routes" per se, just buses moving people around according to need.![]()
