Hi all,

This thread is great - lots of great info! Thanks for sharing all of your experiences with us newbies!

I have two questions:

1. Are there microwaves in the rooms and if not, is it possible to get one? If not, is there access to a microwave at OPR?

2. Does eating at OPR count as counter service for the DDP?

Thanks for any info you can give me! I made our ADRs today and now I'm SO excited!!!!

Welcome to the DIS. There are no microwaves in the room. There is one in the food court that you can use.

Myself, my DD (18) and my DD's bestfriend will be at the CBR from June 12 - June 20!!

I have a quick question. We have a reservation one night at the Contemporary....I understand you can take a taxi, but couldnt you also take the bus lets say to MK and jump on the monorail from there, and get off at the Contemporary?

Just trying to figure out the best option. Would love to hear all opinions on the best way to handle this

Yes, you can take a bus to the MK and take the monorail to the Contemporary. OR - you can take a bus to the MK and walk over to the Cont. It's about a 5 minute walk from the bus stops at MK to the Cont.

Parking is near your room/village, definately, on the outer edges of each village tho, so if you want to see or be close to your vehicle, request parking lot view? Not sure that is even a request?

Thanks pooh2001 for the suggestion ...

I did put our reservation number on the address but I guess it was too many lines with the CBR address, the "Att: Mr. XXXX" so they left off the reservation number.
Should I call down there and say ... There should be two packages coming from the disney store online to us and here are the tracking numbers off our email confirmation as proof ????
Is the number listed on the top of this page actually to CBR front desk or is to the main switchboard ???

You will be talking to a call center not the front desk at CBR.

I have 3 questions about Shutters. I know I should ask this in the restaurant section, but I feel I'll get a better response here from the experts of CBR.

1) Is Shutters a good restaurant?

2) Is the Caribbean Pork Ribs half rack or full rack?

3) How would you rate the New York Strip steak?


We are going with free dining but we don't want to commit ourselves to ADR. DW and I don't like planning everyday out with a time schedule, it drives us nuts. I'm hoping to use Shutters as a back up plan just in case we can't find anything else.

Could someone please tell me where the King bed rooms are located? I thought I read somewhere on DIS that they were only in 1 village & it was far away from OPR.

They are scattered all over the whole resort. Not just in 1 building. HTH.

You're welcome! We had planned to take the monorail to the CR once we got to MK, but then we realized that it would be just as close to walk to the CR as it would to walk to the monorail station!

We ate at Shutters last year on free dining - I had tried to plan a resort night I think after Animal Kingdom day. I did make an ADR - figuring if something came open we really wanted I would dump it. We kept it, I am not sure how the walk up would have gone - it did not seem crowded, but we had to wait 30 minutes for table even with ADR. (The usual wait time at all restaurants during free dining time) This made us almost miss the fireworks at Epcot too from the beach.

I was surprised at how good it was - we both had the steak, so can't comment on the ribs. Not much ambience or the best service - but overall good food.

I don't think that is wise. Shutters will have just as many ADR's as any other restuarant. It might not have in walk up availability like any other restuarant in WDW. During free dining most restuarants book up. Walk in are nearly non existant from what I hear. it would be best to make ADR's for places you want now. You may get there and have nothing available for most or all of your trip.
