Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

We just got back from a trip 9/10-9/18 and it was great! The weather was wonderful...uppers 80s to 90 but no humidity! I did the online check-in after much debate and it worked out very well. Our plane arrived at 11:20am and I was sure we'd have to sit around for hours waiting for our room. When we arrived I went right over to the Online Check-in line (I was the only one) and waited a few minutes for a cast member. She checked me in right away and our room was ready but it was on the 2nd floor. I was with my mother who had a wheelchair (I requested 1st floor on the ressies) so I told her that and she immediately changed it to 2530 and the room was ready!

No problems with busses although after fireworks you would think they would come a little quicker but we didn't mind.

If you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them :goodvibes

Oh, we did have a bounceback offer but I didn't book it.

Did you happen to notice the dates? Did they extend into 2010 by any chance?

We were just at French Quarter and the offer in room was for dates 8/15/10-9/30/10 booking offer by October 24, 2009. 5 night/6day package $75 per person, per day for family of 4 in moderate resorts.

Hi everyone!!! It's been nearly 5 years since I stayed at CBR and just made the plunge to give it another go. We booked a waterview room with requests of a lakeview in the Aruba section. Did we make the right choice for our location? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks :goodvibes

Just thought of a few more questions. Sorry if they have been answered before but don't have the time to power read through 100+ pages :surfweb: Where is the first bus stop vs the last bus stop? This might affect where we request a room. Are the renovated Nemo rooms found throughout the resort?

iT is a question about epcot extra hours...
When epcot has the night extra hours which say 9p-12a, does that mean that Future World is open from 9a-7p and is closed from 7p-9p and then re-opens, or are they basically open until 12a? I'm really looking to try and do Nemo/Crush, Soarin and Fast Track. pirate:pluto:

major attractions (i.e. soarin, test track) are usually open until 9 or later even on non-emh days. so no, they do not close and re-open on emh nights.

When I was there in September, any bus that I was on coming BACK from the parks stopped at Jamaica first, then Aruba.....when we got on the buses in the morning at Trinidad North, the only stop after ours was Trinidad South, so I would assume that all buses follow the same loop around the resort.

As far as I know all the rooms are all now "Nemo" themed except Trinidad South which I believe are the "Priate" themed rooms.

I'm sure you will love CBR. We fell in love with it and are planning on returning next winter (when the weather in Florida is cooler...)

We were at CBR last April during Spring Break and never had any problems with the busses at all. We never had to wait long for a bus going to the parks and it never seemed to take long to be dropped off when we came back. (We were in Trinadad South.) We are definitely going to stay at CBR the next time we go back...whenever that may be!

My trip is getting closer and today I'm doing the :cheer2: Can't wait dance. But does anyone know if CBR does anything Halloween day? We are going to MNSSHP that evening but were going to spend some time at the resort this day.

Can anyone confirm this one? If there is a 4/3 deal when we go in Feb, I might upgrade from the ASMu to CBR, which is where I stayed last time I was at WDW during my honeymoon in 1998. My little one would love a Nemo room.

Yes, all standard & preferred rooms have a Nemo theme to them! :goodvibes Trinidad South is all Pirate rooms and is as seperate booking category.

Thanks for the info everyone! Since I last posted, I read through 20+ pages of earlier posts in this thread. By the sounds of it, waterview rooms aren't all that great. I didn't really want to get stuck in Aruba or Jamaica (no offence to those that like those locations!) I think we stayed in Jamaica the last time we were there and I really didn't like the trek to OPR. So we've now switched to Preferred, with requests in Martinique, Building 25, high floor. Reason for the switch is that I know we'll be relying heavily on the food/snacks from OPR. We don't want to be walking 7+ minutes (I know, I know.. I should just be happy we're going!) across the bridge from Aruba/Jamaica to grab some things for our breakfast in the AM, after a long day at the parks. And since my mom is prone to foot problems (blisters, etc) she'll appreciate being closer to OPR.

During my long hours spent reading older posts in this thread :surfweb: I found a good link for the bus routes at CBR. For those who are interested: CBR Bus Routes

We have one week and 6 days until we leave! How long is it from once you land at the airport until you are at the hotel? Also I read most people's rooms were ready when they did the online check in. Did anyone not have their room ready? Our flight lands around 11:45a and I was hoping to get to Hollywood Studios to see the parade that day. I wasn't sure if we should go to the room first if it is ready. Also I was planning on bring some food for lunch our first day there. Can we sit at a table at OPR without purchasing food?

After several stays at POR, we're thinking of trying CBR next year. My daughter loves having her caricature drawn by the artists who set up in the lobby of POR. Is there anything similar at CBR?

Yes. At Old Port Royale there is an artist that does caricatures.

Great, thanks MickeysMommy. My 4 yr old's entire trip hinges on having that picture drawn!;)

has anyone stayed at barbados? any recommendations?? martinique?? i'm new to all this and soooo confused. convenience is our main objective.

just me and my bf going and trying to stay away from major kiddie attractions around the resort if possible.

thanks!!!!

We're about 10 weeks out from our trip and we are getting so excited. We stayed at POFQ last December and had beautiful weather that was warm enough to swim. We are hoping we luck out and get another warm spell this year so the kids can enjoy the kiddie pool at CBR. We do have one off day planned where they may be able to get some daytime swimming in, but we will have more evenings after dinner available for pool time.

We made one trip to the pool right before bed last year at POFQ and the lifeguards were off duty for the night so the big slide was closed and all but one of the life jackets were locked up. They also locked up the towels before the pool closed. All of the animals that squirt water into the pool were also shut down with the exception the one at the kiddie pool. We still had a great time splashing around before heading to bed.

The kiddie pool at CBR is more involved than the one at POFQ and I'm wondering if anyone knows if parts of it are shut down when the lifeguards go off duty for the night (but before the pool officially closes). I'm sure we'll have fun no matter what, but knowing how it works would probably make it easier to make sure we hit it while it's fully operational if we end up with some good weather.

Thanks for your help!
