Going for a grand Gathering in September for free dining! Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A pirates room for me!

We've only used the pool in Dec. and at night, but I've NEVER seen kids cussing and fighting at the pool at CBR! I think I'd have to find a parent if I saw that!! My kids would be on that like crazy.

I meant at Pop and All Stars... This is why we are doing CBR this year...PEACE! LOL

Okay so finally got DH to agree to take up on free dining so we will be stay our first trip at CBR and im so excited. we have stayed before at POP. we are staying Sept 18-26 and i cant wait to see MICKEY again:lovestruc

What is the one thing that is should not miss at CBR wether it be eat a certain thing they offer or enjoy a certain location in the resort. Help!:flower3:

Just some advice. If you get a room in the Aruba 56 area, I'd ask for a different one. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to OPR...beautiful resort though! It can be a pain in the mornings.

I'm not arguing with you, I just want to put your comment into perspective for other people.

Aruba 56 is about one-third of a mile from Old Port Royale (in the past, I'd mapped it out on my favorite running website). Walking a third of a mile in 20 minutes is a pace of 1 mile per hour. Unless the walker has a mobility impairment due to illness or injury or age, the typical walking pace is about 2 miles per hour. That would mean that, for the vast majority of unimpaired people, that walk would be about 10 minutes.

Again, DisJase, I'm not arguing with you or doubting you, but I'd hate for everyone who's never been there to believe that they will have to walk 20 minutes to get to OPR if they get a room in Aruba 56.

And by the way, again for everyone's edification, it's the same exact distance from OPR as Jamaica 41 and Trinidad North 34.

And for anyone familiar with the Polynesian, it's the exact same distance from the Tahiti longhouse to Capt. Cook's.

No, I understood. I was only saying that I didn't think I had ever seen it at CBR so you should be ok. Rest assured, I love it there; this Aug. will be our 3rd visit at CBR, then we are staying for an extra day in Dec. for our Land & Sea trip. We love it at CBR!!!

I have a 3 year old and I don't like noise, should I request top level room?

One of the things we love about CBR is how quiet the room buildings are. We've had a second floor room and found it to be very quiet. However we've also had a first floor room and also found that to be very quiet -- both times over spring break, a very busy season.

Others may disagree, but we loved having a first floor room which opened up onto a courtyard -- saving the up and down of steps with your three-year-old might make a first floor room a good option!:thumbsup2

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I am curious about snack options at this resort. We have always stayed at a value resort and we have decided to upgrade for my 40th birthday celebration and I am so excited:cool1:. Anyway, looking at the snacks included on the DDP, it looks like there is nothing that could be used as a light breakfast or even savoury snack later in the day, as we are planning some resort days. Is this true or are there other snacks available that are not listed on the DDP snack list thread? Thanks so much.

Just joining in! I think we will stay here instead of CR. We have stayed at ASmo, and the price comparison (especially in Canadian dollars!!) is enough to not stay at CR...and Im falling in love with CBR. It's beautiful!!! I recently started thinking that CR just wasn't very 'south' feeling. We aren't used to palm trees here in Atlantic Canada, so anywhere that feels like the Carribean has major thumbs up from me!! :):) I think My parents will love it too.

SO!!! Im going to need to learn preferred vs standard rooms. What the different sections are like. I dont want my parents to have to walk too far to get to a bus stop neither. They aren't OLD! BUT! They aren't young neither ;) lol I think I have a lot of reading to do.

2 dbl bed or 2 queens in the rooms?

Just read and researched from page #1 (which btw is GREAT info, thanks to whomever set it up!!)

And OH BOY! WE are SO Staying here!!! IM SO EXCITED!! More than I was for CR. My kids are going to LOVE the pool and the water park area. The rooms are really nice AND a fridge YAY!

So, from what I can gather, the Martin. and the Trin N. are preferred. Can you have rooms that come out onto the beach? Im just wondering... I wouldnt really want a room overlooking the quiet pool incase it's not so quiet. ;)

We were in Aruba 55 this past week. The walk with two kids, ages 8 and 2 taking their time and stopping to look at turtles and birds every 2 feet  took maybe 7-10 minutes at the most. Also, it was a lovely walk. In fact, on one day we opted to go back the long way, walking around the lake passing Martinique and Barbados rather than going back over the bridge. That was about 15 minutes.

(lol) Well Aruba 56 is our preferred building at CBR!

The walk is beautiful and if it's hammering rain, you've VERY close to the bus stop for the internal shuttle. It's a request you'll almost always get and it's the quietest of any Disney resort I've stayed at.

Each to our own!:)

Due to a flight delay and a wait for the Disney Magical Express bus to leave, we did not arrive at CBR until close to midnight on March 26. I had done online check-in, although was completely unnecessary since the lobby was empty.

The CM at check in was lovely. Despite the late hour, she was charming. She got all our stuff together in about two seconds and made Happy Birthday pins for me and DD. We had requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. We were placed in Aruba 55. It was late, I was tired and I figured it was close enough so I did not request a change.

We went outside to wait for Bell Services to come and take us to the room. We were told they could not come for 15 - 20 minutes  I told the guy at the desk that my kids were dying on their feet. He said he would try to get a van there as soon as possible. He called over a woman who was also working the Bell desk that night. She was very sweet and tried to entertain my daughter while we waited. Bell services showed up in about 10 minutes. The luggage was loaded (including our Garden Grocers order) and off to the room we went.

It was a second floor room, which we were fine with, although others may mind having to carry a stroller up some stairs. The room was was clean and everything was as it should be. It was a standard room, Nemo themed...my kids loved it. The view from the balcony was of the courtyard between 56, 55 and 54.

The bus service was awesome. It was a two minute walk to the Aruba bus stop. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes for a bus. We usually were there by 7:30 a.m. and were often the first (and sometimes the only!) people on the bus. The bus usually only stopped at Barbados before leaving for whichever park we were going to that day. On return, we usually only stopped at Jamaica before reaching Aruba. Only once did the bus do the loop of all the stops, and even then it was quick...about 10 minutes to run the whole circle. At the parks, the experience was the same...a bus was there usually within 10 minutes. We left Epcot late one night and there was LONG line for CBR buses. On that ocassion, we waited about 20 minutes.

Food Court - we only ate here once, for dinner, and it was fine. I had roast turkey, DH had roast pork, the kids had spaghetti and meatballs. It was all good, pretty much what you would expect of a food court.

Mousekeeping...I'm going to try to be fair here. The first day, the room was cleaned perfectly well. Plenty of towels, the coffee pot washed out, the coffee re-supplied, beds made, garbage emptied sinks and tub cleaned. My daughter received a card in the room for her birthday. After that, it was sort of hit or miss. Now, I'm a neat person, so I would straighten up every day before we left...I never left clothes lying around and I always put away the kids things.

After that first day, the coffee pot was never cleaned out...I would wash it out myself every night. The coffee was never re-supplied and we called housekeeping to have more delivered. On one day, we came back to the room around 2:00 p.m. to go to the pool. Housekeeping had not yet visited, but was two doors down. We told them we wanted housekeeping and we rushed out of the room so they could get in. When we returned, it was obvious that they made the beds and emptied the trash and that was it. On of the hand towels we received had a huge mildew stain on it...it was a clean towel, but stained. I think the housekeeper likely didn't notice it since it was underneath the fold. On one day the bath foot mat towel was not replaced.

We received enough shampoo and soap each day, the beds were made and the garbage was emptied. No towel animals, not even on the first day. The kids stuffed animals were never arranged in any way. We still tipped every day, but did not expect anything.

Although I would have liked mousekeeping to have been a bit better, it was not enough to really bother me. The room was clean, just not perfect, and not enough to cause me to be upset or anything.

The resort itself is beautiful and the pool is awesome. My kids could have stayed in all day if I had let them. The loved the slides and they had a great time. And the margaritas from the Pool Bar were very good! ;) My DH loved it also....he said he felt like he was really on vacation there. And he was happy with how happy the kids were with everything.

The night before we left, we asked for Bell Services to come get the luggage at 7:15 because we had an 8:35 a.m. ADR at 1900 Park Fare and wanted to spend a few hours at MK before our DME pickup time of 2:30. We were told 7:15 was taken, but we could have 7:20. Um, okay! The guy came on time, was very friendly, took all of our stuff and we were off as planned.

We returned to the resort and got on the 2:00 DME bus because they had room. It arrived at 2:15 so we decided to hop on rather than wait for our scheduled 2:30 pickup.

Overall, it was a wonderful vacation. I would definitely stay here again. We have been to POFQ and liked that very much too, but we think our children just loved CBR more, especially because of the pool.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at CBR. We actually spent our first two nights AKL CL just so we could go on the Sunrise Safari and then moved over to CBR for 7 nights. I'm sure many people will think we're nuts, but my family actually preferred CBR over AKL!

I was worried that we were staying at AKL first and everyone would be disappointed when we had to go over to CBR, but luckily that didn't happen. We just got home a few hours ago and I'm still working on my 10 loads of laundry :scared1:, but I will get back on later and post a full review!

Just wanted to post a quickie to let everyone know that my family thought CBR was just beautiful! We had no real complaints at all.

I just read through all 28 pages and I'm so excited to stay at CBR! We just booked today for 11/4-11/11:) I was just commenting to DH that we planned to book a moderate with the plan to upgrade to a deluxe if codes came out but now I am so excited about CBR that if we got a code for our dates, we would likely just take the discount!

The resort looks so beautiful and relaxing and the pool seems better than some of the deluxe ones -- the girls are so excited about it! I can't wait for November to get here:)

Does anyone know the order of the bus stops, but leaving the resort and coming back?
