Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

The quietness of the resort was one of my favorite things. Last time we stayed at the Wilderness and we could hear everyone walking by in the hallway, it was a connecting room and we could hear our neighbors clear as a bell, and it was pool view so the pool noise/music was loud during the day.

Our room at CBR was a connecting room but we never heard the neighbors at all. The resort just seemed so much more quiet and peaceful.

I have also return from an 8 day 7 night visit to the CBR. sheeesh it was soooo hot, lol. But heres my overall thought:

The whole resort is huge!!! we check in custom house and had to take the shuttle bus to our area in Jamaca. Our room number was 4504, wasnt too far from the bus stop, nor not too far to the bridge to port royale.

The room was clean when we check in, nothing didnt seem wrong with us, the nemo themeing was actually pretty cute.

The theme of the resort did feel like the carribean:D

The pool was at good temperature and very cleean

I believe they had a good selection of food in the food court and got a good selection of snacks

So yaaa definitely seem like mostly families come to this resort, but it was still a wonderful stay, very quiet at night when sleeping, and i didnt see any lizards:( lol. But yea i definitely would love to come back here:D expect a trip report to come sooon

Posted this in the transportation forum, but thought I'd ask this here too. Does anyone know what my options are for getting from the Contemporary to CBR after the Electric Water Parade? Can I take the monorail to the TTC, then catch a bus to CBR?

no, you need to get off the monorail (or walk, as it is very close) to MK, and the buses are there, not at the TTC

We had to swap our ressie from SSR to CBR, I really wanted CSR, but they weren't available. We're staying in the pirate rooms. Please tell me we made a good decision!! We have 2 rooms, and hopefully they'll be connecting!! How is the quiet pool in that area? Does it go deeper than 5 feet? How far is it to refill the mugs? How's the busses? I'm bummed, but I do want to get excited about this. Please reassure me!!

Here's the thing though...MK is closing at 6:30 that night (the whole reason we're going to CR for dinner & EWP) so I'm not sure if the busses to MK will still be running. Could I take it to Epcot and catch a bus there?

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before but, are the king size bed rooms spread out throughout the resort or are they in a certain section? thanks :)

Why i MK closing so early that night? Is it because of a party? if so, they most likely will still have transportation going. Depends o nthe party I guess. But you could also take a bus to DTD and then another back to your resort

Mu daughter is wanting us to switch resorts for CBR and we like the look of Jamaica. Were you happy with the resort and did you have long waits for the bus? What order did the bus run when entering the resort (right or left) and was the bus full when it got to your bus stop? TIA!

Last week (May 1-8), we waited an average of 5 mins for a bus. The longest wait was about 10 mins for an early bus to MK for an 8:15 ADR. As for the route, the pick up route seemed to run the same from Barb-Mart-OPR-Trin North-Trin South-Jamaica-Aruba. Sometime, the drop off route followed that same path starting with Barbados, but a few times we took a different entrance and started in Jamaica with Trin South being last. We never stood up on a bus leaving the resort.

The quiet pool stretches from 2ft to 5ft for most of the pool. There is a smaller section (it's L-shaped) that is 6ft. See my post above about our bus wait.

The pirate rooms are all in Trinidad South. It's a 8-10 minute walk to OPR to refill mugs or you can ride an internal bus. We didn't like the internal bus wait so I hopped in the car a couple times during the week for snacks/refills or we filled up before leaving the main pool.

Hi we had the same on 30th of april as MK closed at 6pm we got the bus to DTD and then changed, fot CR there, and same going back, as we thought about Epcot route but we would have been going back just after it closed and would of been on crowded buses, DTD is much quieter

It's not a MVMCP night, but I've heard rumors there may be a private event at MK that night, in which case I have no clue what the busses will do. I have a feeling I'll end up chatting with a CM closer to time to see what MK busses are doing. Otherwise we'll just go through DTD.

We can do online check in on Wednesday. I was wondering which area and building would be best to request. I paid for standard, so something from this category. It is just myself and DS (13) going this time, so we don't mind walking, but would rather something close to the food court and main pool! Any suggestions on what I should request? I was thinking Jamaica, but which building?

Jamaica is great! I would request Jamaica 44 or 45 or Aruba 51 or 52. All are very close to the bridge that leads to OPR.:goodvibes

Stayed at CBR last week in a preferred room. It was great! We were mere minutes away from OPR. The busses weren't bad, just a lot of stops before going to the Parks. DGD(5) loved the pools!!!

Hi, we just got back last night from a stay at CBR May 1-9 and we loved it. There were 3 adults and 3 kids in our group. We stayed in Trinidad North (preferred room) and had connecting rooms as requested. We loved these rooms. One was a corner room and they were quite spacious. The decor was great and the rooms were very clean as was the rest of the resort. The pool was so fun with great theming and my two oldest loved the water slides (my 5 year old with life jacket). The pool did get quite crowded at times, but we could always enjoy ourselves. It was very hot last week and I think people were probably leaving the parks like us to get in the pool! The kiddie area was fun too. The scenery is beautiful and the place is so quiet. We never heard anything once on our room and when walking along the path. There was an alligator in the lake which a group of us enjoyed watching one night from the bridge near the main pool. Our room was in between the Old Port Royale bus stop and Trinidad North bus stop and we tended to use the OPR bus stop. Usually we had 2 stops after us before leaving the resort and when returning I think we were stop number 4. This was only a problem for us b/c our 1 year old did not want to wait for 4 stops once we got to the resort. Otherwise, it was not a problem. The buses seemed very crowded when leaving a park when closing as expected. Otherwise, we almost always got a seat. It was a pretty quick ride to DHS and Epcot, but in my opinion it took a little too long for MK at times. One morning after getting on at OPR bus stop it took 30 minutes to get to MK. Other times we got to MK in 15-20 minutes. We only went to AK once and I don't recall thinking that was too long. Sometimes we walked right on the bus and other times we waited up to 15 minutes. We liked to food court. We had breakfast and lunch there and tried different areas. The food was pretty good. Lots of drink choices and the gift shop has snacks and drinks too. The gift shop had a nice selection. My kids did the Pirate Adventure Cruise and LOVED it. Highly recommend it. By the time they actually sail away with the kiddos, you have about 90 minutes to sit by the pool kid free if you don't have a younger child like us :). Trinidad North to the main pool and cafeteria took about 2 minutes and we could walk with thru the parking lot or along the water. We did both depending where we were intending on going. The CMs were very friendly! Everyone complains about how big it is, but we actually walked from Custom House to Trinidad North with all of our carry ons the first day we were there and were fine instead of waiting 20 minutes for the internal bus. We did the airline check in thing when leaving. We used Garden Grocer. Worked out perfectly! Overall, we would stay here again, but we plan on trying out different places. My family thinks that CBR and POP are both great and have not chosen one over the other. Hope this is helpful to some of you! Enjoy!! We did!

$400.00 left to go! Spetember 12th can't come fast enough! I stayed at CBR back in '04, can't wait to go back to it. :goodvibes

Oh! And I have a trip report going if you guys want to follow it.
