we just returned from CBR and I have to say...I loved it! we stayed there in Dec 2005 and I have to admit all this time I kept saying I didn't want to stay there again:confused3 I don't know why...The only thing I can think of was I remember being sick with a migrane while we were there that time and it really spoiled the vacation. It was very hot Thurs, Fri, and Sat, so we hit the parks early, left in the middle of the day, and went to the pools, then back to the parks in the evening. I took lot's of pics and we saw the alligator in the lake also (pics coming soon)...can't wait go back!:thumbsup2

We will be staying at CBR in October for free dining. We have requested Jamaica. Last time we were at CBR a few years ago we were in Barbados and found it a bit far from the main pool and food court. Any other areas you would request if Jamaica is unavailable. We didn't want to spend the extra for preferred, but want a building fairly close to OPR.

Everyone complains about how big it is, but we actually walked from Custom House to Trinidad North with all of our carry ons the first day we were there and were fine instead of waiting 20 minutes for the internal bus.
That's a LONG trip! WHY did you do that? :confused3

Today marks day 9 until we pick up the rental car and head down to Disney. Thanks to everyone for the reports and pictures. My DD is excited to see her Disney home this year. Please keep the reports and pictures coming. WAHOO:banana::banana::cheer2:

We all agreed that we would rather walk it than wait the 20 minutes for the shuttle. A CM had told us that the internal shuttle had just pulled away and that it probably wouldn't be back for 20 mins. It was actually a nice walk and really didn't take us that long. Also, the baby would not have been happy to hop on another bus so strolling her worked out well too. We were so excited to get to our room. There was a 20 something couple who said "We are Americans, we don't walk" so I know they thought we were crazy, but like I said we all agreed that it wasn't bad and would probably do it again instead of waiting for the internal shuttle.

I still have 1 month 3 weeks and 6 days to do, (but who's counting?:lmao:) and I must say that it's the dis, all the great trip reports and pics that keep me going. Please keep on sharing everyone :goodvibes

Quick question please, So we will be landing at MCO at about 10am and I guess since we'll be using the ME arriving at CBR at 12?ish do you think that there is enough to do at the resort to spend the first day there? It 's just going to be me and my 12yo dd, if that makes a difference. We'll be up from about 4am so we don't want to do a park.We also have regular base tickets so no hopping for us, so I really want to make rope drop if possible.

Any tips or advice from anyone is greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

TIA

Stayed at CBR last week in a preferred room. It was great! We were mere minutes away from OPR. The busses weren't bad, just a lot of stops before going to the Parks. DGD(5) loved the pools!!!

Hi, we just got back last night from a stay at CBR May 1-9 and we loved it. There were 3 adults and 3 kids in our group. We stayed in Trinidad North (preferred room) and had connecting rooms as requested. We loved these rooms. One was a corner room and they were quite spacious. The decor was great and the rooms were very clean as was the rest of the resort. The pool was so fun with great theming and my two oldest loved the water slides (my 5 year old with life jacket). The pool did get quite crowded at times, but we could always enjoy ourselves. It was very hot last week and I think people were probably leaving the parks like us to get in the pool! The kiddie area was fun too. The scenery is beautiful and the place is so quiet. We never heard anything once on our room and when walking along the path. There was an alligator in the lake which a group of us enjoyed watching one night from the bridge near the main pool. Our room was in between the Old Port Royale bus stop and Trinidad North bus stop and we tended to use the OPR bus stop. Usually we had 2 stops after us before leaving the resort and when returning I think we were stop number 4. This was only a problem for us b/c our 1 year old did not want to wait for 4 stops once we got to the resort. Otherwise, it was not a problem. The buses seemed very crowded when leaving a park when closing as expected. Otherwise, we almost always got a seat. It was a pretty quick ride to DHS and Epcot, but in my opinion it took a little too long for MK at times. One morning after getting on at OPR bus stop it took 30 minutes to get to MK. Other times we got to MK in 15-20 minutes. We only went to AK once and I don't recall thinking that was too long. Sometimes we walked right on the bus and other times we waited up to 15 minutes. We liked to food court. We had breakfast and lunch there and tried different areas. The food was pretty good. Lots of drink choices and the gift shop has snacks and drinks too. The gift shop had a nice selection. My kids did the Pirate Adventure Cruise and LOVED it. Highly recommend it. By the time they actually sail away with the kiddos, you have about 90 minutes to sit by the pool kid free if you don't have a younger child like us :). Trinidad North to the main pool and cafeteria took about 2 minutes and we could walk with thru the parking lot or along the water. We did both depending where we were intending on going. The CMs were very friendly! Everyone complains about how big it is, but we actually walked from Custom House to Trinidad North with all of our carry ons the first day we were there and were fine instead of waiting 20 minutes for the internal bus. We did the airline check in thing when leaving. We used Garden Grocer. Worked out perfectly! Overall, we would stay here again, but we plan on trying out different places. My family thinks that CBR and POP are both great and have not chosen one over the other. Hope this is helpful to some of you! Enjoy!! We did!

There's definitely plenty to do and see at CBR. We always enjoy spending the day there. You'll want to get all unpacked and get your room organized. And eat! Between all that and swimming, walking the grounds, relaxing on a hammock, visiting the marina & gift shops, you'll find plenty to keep you busy. And if not, you can always hop on the bus to DTD for a bit. It's less than 10 minutes away!

OMG !!!!!!!! I just realised we are within 10 days of arrival, so I can do online check-in !!! WOOHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks momof2disneyboys, sounds like a plan :goodvibes

@ Britgirlus, you're soo lucky :), for me it feels like time is crawling when it comes to my trip countdown and flying in regards to everything else, lol.

to get all your info squared away ahead of time so that when you do get to the customs house to check-in you can just get the welcome packet and be on your way.

Its makes check in so much easier don't you think....we've done it twice and we were completely checked in and on our way to the room with in 5 minutes. The On-line check in line had no one in it when we got there, and the regular check in line had at least 10 people waiting to check in. I was so glad to be done so fast!!!!!!!

I just did the on-line check -in. requested a corner room with no view of the parking lot.

2 days to go!!
