I did notice one thing...This year we couldnt have a preference of a type of room or choose in which area ehhere we would like to be. Is it possible to do that?? Do Caribbean beach charge?? Can I ring them direct?? ..Yes I am quite a novice at this last year we spent the whole 2 weeks in the 4 parks!!

Welcome to the DIS.

You might want to read the FAQ's threads listed below.

There are two preferred villages at CBR. These locations cost an extra $15 nightly.

Many people prefer Jamaica since it is across the lake from the food court and main pool.

Trinidad South is further away but some like it for the feeling of it being its own resort.

If you post on the FAQ II thread below you will get lots of great CBR information.

You will have a great time at CBR.

at the old port royale food court at the crb they have a childrens meal that comes in a sand bucket with a shovel. kids love it. we stayed at the crb back in march 2003 in the martinique village, which was quiet, but we had to walk or jump the bus to get to the main building even in the rain. i would definetly request a village closer to the main building with food court, store, main pool, boat dock.

have a great wdw trip!

Hello there,
We stayed at CBR in December, and we got building 22 in Martinique. We didn't get the chance to request, we booked with Virgin Holidays, so Disney couldn't call up our booking until we got there.I tried to call the day before we left. I asked for Jamaica at check-in, cos I'd read here that it was close to the food court and had a playarea, but they said, well you're in Martinique and that's closer. It was perfect - right by a beach with a playarea which the boys loved (5 & 3 - bit younger than yours!), and the quiet pool, which they preferred to the main one. We hired a bike , and a speedboat, and had great fun for half an hour. I'd say any area of CBR is lovely, but it is handy to be close to the food court for those late night hot chocolates.

Question on the 'walking' distances that everyone seems to mention. We have heard it is a large resort and have seen the layout on the maps. Can someone put it in perspective like city blocks? Ie. If you were walking from Jamicia 45 how may blocks is it to the food court? Thanks.

Maybe two or 3 blocks. The walk from Jamaica to the food court is very nice and you don't realize the minutes. You are walking in a highly landscaped area with a lake, birds, boats, trees to admire as you are walking.

You will have to judge for yourself but I don't think it is as much walking as some suggest.

That was what we were hoping. We went to Cuba a few years ago and the resort had about 30+ 2 & 3 storey buildings spread out over about a mile or so. We found the walking to be nice and relaxing. Even though it was busy it was spead out just enough that you felt like you had some privacy. It was really nice. Thanks - your a wealth of information. :flower:
