I just ordered the Caretaker's Express Booklets for 10/12. They were $46 (peak night) with the fanclub discount. The booklets have one coupon for each attraction, including the houses.

I don't mind paying $46 for the Express booklets. It is a peak night. After reading how crowded it was on 10/5, I think it is a good idea. DH doesn't like waiting on long lines. This is our only night that we'll be going to HHN (10/12), so we want to be able to see everything. I have read that they only sell a certain amount of booklets per night. Having purchased the booklets in advance, I don't have to worry about them selling out. Our booklets will be waiting for us at will-call. Prices are as follows:
Peak night $51.00 ($46.00 fanclub)
Non peak night $29.00 ($26.00 fanclub)
The number to call is 1-800-711-0080. I don't feel that I got ripped off. :-)

One hour in the discovery center.
Is there a bar in there, or peope selling beer?
And if so was it happy hour prices?
Gotta have something to do for an hour.

Thanks for the response, it's what I figured. They're getting full price because the people in the discovery center have no other choice. That's ok, I'll pay for a couple beers at full price, then hit the bar for a Long Island Ice Tea when they let us out. At least they're selling it, people would go nuts waiting for an hour with no drinks.

Thanks for the info on the Caretakers Express Booklet Karin. At least it is far more affordable than the VIP tour. Let us know how well the passes work (wait time in express line for houses, etc) if you can.

Thanks again,

jb

the caretaker's express has the same express guarantee: approximately 15 mins max wait.

Thanks Marauder. I read a lot of the same complaints about crowds at HHN last Saturday on another board. It has me rethinking my strategy and expanding my budget to include either the express book or VIP tour (I'll be there on 10/26).

I think the express book is a great idea because although I enjoy the parks more when they are crowded I hate waiting more than an hour in line for anything. Do you know if the express passes have a certain "Return Time" on them like "Go between 7 and 8 for Scary Tales, etc" or can you use your passes any time that night?

Staying on-site at Universal has afforded me the luxury of having my cake and eating it too but since HHN does not honor hotel cards I''ll put up the extra $40 or so and enjoy myself rather than spend my whole night in line.

Thanks again for the info.

The Caretaker's Express Booklets were great. I was so happy to have them. We went to HHN on Saturday, 10/12. The lines were pretty long for everything. We walked right into the houses and right onto the rides. We didn't have to wait at all. We also had priority seating to the first Bill and Ted show. There is a voucher for each attraction in the booklet. If you don't like standing in line all night, the booklets are great.

We just got back from our trip to Universal. We bought the Caretaker's Express Booklet for Thursday October 17th, and they were only $15 a piece including tax. Well worth it, because the crowds were very big Thursday. Waits were typically 60-75 Minutes for all the houses.

thursday was weird. they were only expecting maybe 14,000 in the park, but there ended up being about 29,000 instead.
