Card check @ pool

I was told you can charge to the card just like a hotel room card - can anyone else verify one way or the other. Arriving Monday and this info would be helpful.

You absolutely CAN charge to the KTTW car at The Fort. pirate: A few times I have also been asked for ID when charging.

Only if you elect to. Charging privileges were not anything I was concerned about having. And one less reason why I didn't keep the KTTW card on me at all times.

I actually tried to keep it by the tent door, in hopes of remembering it at night when the bathrooms were locked. That didn't really work either.

So glad to hear this - I will be there in Sept. and I would hate it if I couldn't not get a chair because someone not paying has a chair

I am so glad they have FINALLY implemented this! We frequently go to Ft. Wilderness and I have NO problem at all showing my KTTW card to access the facilities. I have not had a problem at the campfire, but I have certainly had problems at the pool.

Thanks Disney!

What about guests of guests?? I am (or will be) a paying FW camper with full rights to use the pool with my son. We have a friend that lives about 30 minutes away that would like to bring her daughter and come hangout with us for the day. I feel like she should be able to. I guess I am going to have to keep my daughter's room key (she will only be there on the weekends) so my friend can come with me. I personally have no problem with non guests riding the busses, checking out the campground etc. I guess I can put her on my site for the day but she won't be spending the night. There have been times that I couldn't camp because my husband couldn't bring the camper down, and I have still come over to the Fort...we did NOT get in the pool but we bussed around, went to the campfire etc.

It sounds like they are asking for 1 card from someone in the group. But you can always add them to your reservation, and then they have their own Card, with all the benefits of a WDW Resort Guest including EMH if you are hitting the parks. You are allowed up to 10 on each site, and I have never been asked to pay any extra if I add them on after I check in.

When we go to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon we have to have our tickets with us, and I don't want to trade carrying the tickets for carrying a locker key, so I invested in one of those nifty watertight boxes. It's easy to keep our key to the world in there for the pool.

When we were there a week ago no one was checking that I could see, but I sure wish they had been!

We were just there, literally check out this morning! (June 5, 2011)

As for the room key check at the pool, I did not observe anyone doing this.

However one thing that really annoyed me were those GUESTS reserving tables.
I arrived at the pool at 9:30am with my kids to have a "pool day" and there were NO tables. It would not have been such and issue if there were actually PEOPLE occupying 3 of the tables rather then a few towels and a bag!

Like I said I arrived at 9:30am and there were 3 tables being "held" along with multiple lounge chairs. No "guests" around. One of the groups finally showed up at 2pm!! Seriously people.....show some respect for the other guests!

After an hour I would have taken over the table.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we just returned from almost daily visits to the pool at many different times of day and were not once asked for our KTTW card in 12 days of being there.

Maybe guests at FW should start asking Disney to compensate us for not being able to enjoy a to crowded pool.

Just got back from a trip June 13-23 and we were never carded. One day (Saturday) the pool was standing room only (it was HOT) - there was also not one chair to be found as all were covered with towels and we ended up just putting our stuff on the grass. I can't say I noticed anyone that stuck out as being a non-Fort guest but that's not to say they weren't there. Carding seems to have gone by the wayside for now.

I've seen the Lynx City bus coming into the Fort this trip. Makes it very easy for anyone to travel in to use the free Fort Wilderness WaterPark. Maybe they will card over the 4th...Disney needs to be consistent. Open up all the pools to everyone all over the WDW property (including that lovely waterpark over at Beach and Yacht) or enforce the rules that you can only use the pool at the resort at which you are a registered guest. I'd LOVE to go pool hopping when the Fort Pool is too full to be used. It would be very nice to take a break mid day when visiting EPCOT to hit those fancy waterpark pools over there.

Perhaps an online petition {maybe join forces with "another forum"}, and back it up with a paper petition passed around the loop by forum members when they visit?

I'd sign for card check at the gate and at the buses. Card check at the pool is good, but card check at the gate keeps the whole campground more secure.

Wasnt so long ago a trespasser had a tryst with an underaged girl at the Fort, how many other incidents have happened involving trespassers? How many will it take for Disney to start affording Fort guests some security as opposed to their present policy of practically inviting trespassers and providing them transportation to guest amenities?

I like the idea of the petition and also asking for a partial refund if I am unable to use the pool due to over-crowding. When we were there in April, the cast members claimed that the pool was over-crowded due to the cabin pool being closed. I didn't buy that excuse since the Fort was not at full capacity. Should be interesting to hear what excuse they will use when the cabin pool opens up.

I would be all for having my resort ID checked at the pool. It is a pet peeve of mine when people leave towels on chairs that sit empty all day.
