E are going the first week of jan and will have a car. Is it better with 4 kids to drive to the parks or take the bus? We will be at all star movies and hit the park from rope drop to close each day...based on your recommendation how early would you try to leave the hotel for each park? Thanks!!

What do you mean by "better?" On average, it will be quicker to take the bus to Magic Kingdom but driving should be quicker for the others. You'll have shorter walks if you use the buses.

There would be no question for us as we like to park and leave the driving to Disney transportation - we find it relaxing. If you have large strollers, they can be a pain for you and everyone else at times, so that may be one thing for you to consider.

Car is better. One year we did a test. DH drove back to SSR and I took the bus. He waited 35 minutes for me to arrive from Epcot and 25 minutes for me to get back from MK. Our room was in the Grandstand section, which is the first bus stop at SSR. That being said I will never take a Disney bus.

Thanks!! Still trying to decide. Anyone have suggestions for when to leave the hotel if we are driving to each park?

Last year me and hubby did a "race" lol the resort monorail was down and we were at the contemporary going to Epcot. My hubby doesn't do buses lol but my older son wanted to go on the bus. So I took my older son on the bus and my hubby took the younger son in the car. With the Disney transportation the bus dropped us off at ttc and then we took the Epcot monorail into Epcot. We got there at the exact same time as my hubby did, lol.

When we do rope drop, we are at our resort bus stop 1 hour prior to park opening. That will get you ahead of most of the crowds once the gates open no matter which park you are going to. :goodvibes

Its an easy decision for us. We drive where ever we can. Not a fan at all of public transportation in general. Disney's isn't really magical (unless its the monorail).

The exception we make is when going to the MK since driving means you have to park in the main lot and then take the tram to the Ferry/Monorail before getting to the MK turnstiles. The bus to the MK drops you off right there.

I don't know the age of your four children but if you are going from opening to closing straight through all day then take a car. Most if not all park closing bus lines are long and 4 ( or 6) tired kids are not going to want to wait for a bus and possibly have to stsnd back to resort

We drove to the Animal Kingdom and the Movie Studios. We took the monorail to Epcot and Magic Kingdom. They had no apps or signs to display when the next bus was arriving so you have no idea how long you will wait. Driving was way more convenient.
