Car service-how far in advance do you book?

I have decided for my upcoming trip to use a car service as staying at the Dolphin so the Magical Express is not an option. For those of you who have used a car service how far in advance do you book?

I usually book a few months prior to my trip. Then, a few days before I'm due to leave, I send off an email, just to make sure all is still good.

I just booked a towncar yesterday for a Universal trip end of July. In the past, I've booked several months ahead.

You should book the car service when you have decided you want to use them. There are car services that required no money or deposits to book and than you pay when you are dropped off at the resort. I would look for one like that and I would say you can book 5 months or better in advance.

I'll be solo at Universal Studios August 29th-Sept 4th. Is it too late to book a car service and any suggestions for a reliable, but fairly cheap one?

Thank you for the replies :) I think I will go ahead and book this week. One less thing to worry about.

Most of the 'reliable' companies are going to be about the same cost. If you go 'fairly cheap' you may run into issues...there is a reason for the 'cheapness'.
I have used Tiffany and FL Tours in the past with good results. Others will have their favorites as well.

I am in the same boat. We are staying at the Dolphin this next trip, too. I think we've decided to use the minivan from Happy Limo. I guess I will plan to book 5-6 mos in advance when I book my airfare.
