car seats required on plane for 2.5 yr old?

Does anyone know the requirements for the Disney Magical Express? Do they provide car seats or do the kids sit on your lap? We do not plan on renting a car during our trip.

We stopped taking the car seat when DS turned 3.

Before he was two, we never bought him a seat. He either sat in our lap, or we were able to bring our car seat on the plane because there was an extra seat.

From 2 to 3 we used the seat when we traveled, but by the time he turned 3, it was way more hassle then it was worth.

I can't imagine using a car seat for an almost 6 year old on a plane. There'd be no room for the kid's legs.

The OP's kid is 2 1/2 years old, I think you read it as she has 2 5yos.

As a former flight attendant I can tell you that you do not need a car seat in order to fly. One thing you do need to keep in mind is what type of transportation you will be using once you land. If you are renting a car when you arrive you will need a car seat, however if you are taking ME then you still do not need one. I took my DD when she was 2 and we did not take a car seat. We will be returning in June and she will be 4 and since we are staying at Swan & Dolphin I have to rent a car so this go round I will have to gate check one.
