Car seats for airport transportation?

Hi - My family is flying into LAX in May. I have 2 little kids who need to ride in car seats. We'd like to simply take a shared shuttle from LAX to Anaheim (i.e. Super Shuttle or something similar). Does anyone know if they, or any other shuttle company, provide car seats upon request?

Last time we brought my son's car seat with but that was a big hassle and this time we have TWO kids who would need it. Renting a car is much more expensive and not something that we want to do.

If there aren't any other options, I'd bring my own car seats if it comes down to it. While it's a hassle, their safety is most important. Any other suggestions are appreciated as well.

Thanks!

I can tell you they are not required on large tour buses, like the Disneyland express one.

A quick search gave me this: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1748120 (post #7)

They do not provide them but they are highly recommended. Frankly, the way every super shuttle I've ever ridden in has driven, I don't think I'd ever get on one without my child (or even myself) in a carseat... rear facing and in a 5 pt!

A towncar service may provide or require a small fee, but this falls in line with renting them. You never know what you are getting, if they are expired, if they are recalled or if they are damaged in some way. You also never know if they are installed right.

We've taken the Disneyland Express the past 2 years and didn't bring our carseats, it worked out perfect. They don'[t have seatbelts on the buses so you couldn't use your carseat anyway. And I am a carseat fanatic, this was the best option vs. renting a car and bringing our own seats.

I would bring my own or take the Disneyland Express Bus. I would not trust any carseat that I rented from a shuttle company. I know it's a pain, last time we went we had to bring 3 carseats on the airplane (well we gate checked them) but safety is most important. I agree with the PP, shuttle and taxi drivers are not the best drivers :rotfl:

On our last trip we used BW Limo and when they picked us up in the 15 pax van there was a car seat already in there!

On another note, If you don't want to gate check your car seats you can send them through as regular luggage. Most airlines (if not all) won't charge you baggage fees for car seats!

I would use the Disneyland Resort Express. Big greyhound, so you don't need seats.

There are travel options (for seats) if you do decide you need them and are willing to invest some money. But it depends on their ages.

I totally agree with the pp, the supershuttle drivers scare me! We took it once in SF and the guy was gabbing on his cell phone (held to his ear with his other hand) the whole time! It was scary!

Yes, this is precisely why we opted for the Disneyland Express instead of one of the other shuttles--I didn't want to haul our carseats on the airplane (nor did I want to check them as baggage...the airlines don't exactly treat carseats gently!) however I don't trust rental carseats or shuttle carseats to be unexpired or installed correctly.
