Aunts taking 8 yr. old nephew to WDW 1st time. My sister says he does not need a car seat now, He will be 9 yr. old when we go. I asked about a "youth" booster seat and she said not necessary? Just in back seat with seat belt, anyone know. He is your normal size boy. Not sure of weight, I probably need to get him on a scale. Hmmmmmmm.

Thanks, Mky ::MinnieMo

He will be "legal" without a carseat or booster. Florida law only requires a carseat until age 4, 3 and under must be in an approved carseat. Even the states with the toughest laws are IIRC 8yo or 80lbs, so unless he is tiny you won't need to worry.

In addition if his mom isn't requiring her 9yo to use a CRS I don't think it would go over to well if auntie did.

My 9yo is tiny and uses a backless booster in my and dh's car but I do let her ride with friends and relatives without it.
