I want to get my ds (2) his own seat for our WDW trip. My hubby thinks its ridiculous because we have to not only pay for a seat but buy a new car seat of the plane. Our carseat is a wide 5 point harness that would be too large for an aiplane seat. SO my questions is what kind of seat could I buy that would fit but would also be reasonable in price??
Please no flames or lectures, we plan on buying a ticket.
Thanks.

If your son is 2 or older you have no choice but to get him his own seat, he can't fly as a lap child.

We didn't even use a car seat on the plane when my daughter was two. It was so much easier!

You could look into this seat belt for kids on planes if you don't feel comfortable just using the regular seat belt. http://www.kidsflysafe.com/

I was so happy not to have to drag around her bulky car seat. Good luck with your decision!

What type of seat do you have? We used a Britax Marathon on many planes and never had a fit problem.

We have no desire to lug our heavy Britaxes through airports and we travel enough that purchasing Cosco Sceneras was a good option for us. Less than $50 at Walmart, great reviews for the price, pretty easy to install and reasonably comfy and very lightweight. The only con is the weight limit isn't particularly high (40 lbs) so you might not get your perceived money's worth with an almost-two-year-old.

We also bought the Cosco Scenera for travel (we use a Britax Marathon at home). It's lightweight and inexpensive, yet it's a decent seat. The only issue I have with it is that I always have a hard time installing it RFing in rental cars.
