I'm pricing our rentals for our trip this August and had some questions abuot coupons and codes. I have the Entertainment book and in it there are several coupons for 1 car or 2 car class upgrades. When you make the reservation and select the car, do you select say an intermediate and pay the intermediate price then when you get to the rental location you get the next car class up? We will need to get at least a full size or bigger.

Can you combine upgrade coupons with a code from Mousesaver's or is one or the other?

Thanks!!

What rental agency are you talking about? Most coupons mention subject to availability. So if you really need a full size you should book full size.

I was thinking about Budget but I'm open to others too. Anywhere on airport that I can get a good deal with - I did read the "fine print" on the coupon and of course you are right about the availability!! So, do you go ahead and reserve the full size, then get to the rental agency, present the coupon and get a premium size (that would be okay - I'm sure it will be a little more comfy too)

If you really need a full size I would reserve a full size. Also check your rates with and without using coupons. Sometimes using a coupon makes your rate higher.

Okay - I will be sure to rent a full size car at the very minimum. But I want to be sure I understand how to make the reservation. I reserve and pay for the full size, then when I get there I present the coupon to get an upgrade (if available). I would love to get a premium for a full size price. Also - the other part of my original question - can you combine coupons (such as upgrades) with a code (such as a membership code available from Mousesavers)? Or does it simply depend on the rental company?

I don't know why I find rental cars such a difficult concept ;) . Too many variables, I guess~ I am having the hardest time finding a price I can be comfortable with. Thanks!!

I think it depends on the rental company. I don't know about Budget but with Hertz I can use my AAA membership along with a coupon.

I would reserve and pay for a full size and put the coupon code in for the upgrade. Not sure how Budget does it but with Hertz you enter the upgrade code when you make the reservation and then give them the coupon when you return the car.

I just saved $20.00!!!! :cool1: I thought I had a great deal with budget but I was checking around on their site and used a costco code and got an even better rate!!!! :Pinkbounc
