Given how high rates are this year, that's not a bad deal at all and at this late date, you're not likely to find anything better. The only other suggestions I have are to try bidding through Priceline or wait another few days until Alamo is offering last minute specials that are good through your entire trip. (They're only good through 10/13 right now.)

I can't get anything under $300 for 10-27 to 11-3. I have tried every combination of discount codes and coupons that I can find. Also tried all different car rental companies. Just hoping I can get a last minute deal.

$235.72 for a midsize (Sebring) from Dollar using code KISS2

I see that the minivan is $300 so maybe that is what you were looking for:confused3?

I got a midsize from Alamo using their last minute rates 10 days before we are leaving. Out the door cost is $167 which also includes the FF fee of $4.50. Now I see the rates are back up to $282. I am happy with the rate I got.

Sounds like a great rate to me. The cheap (overly cheap) car rental rates of the past are gone, inventories have been drawn down dramatically, rental companies are looking to reduce their losses and rate increases have stuck pretty well across all the companies.

I have tried to get better rates and can't. Enjoy that it is under $300. The prices stink right now. Don't let it bother you.
Have a magical vacation!:wizard:

Try here:

You can find a midsize through Avis for $226 for your dates. There is a $35 off coupon MUWA003 you can add on the site that will take your rate to under $200. The coupon is applied at the counter. Several people have reported success with it.

Thanks for that link... it is fantastic... really does save significant money over rates I have found elsewhere. Maybe it's going ahead and figuring in the best possible coupons for all of the companies?

That is really not too bad.
I'm finding similar rates for four days over MLK weekend.

And the car sizes...Enterprise considers a Chevy Cobalt a "mid-size" car?!
I think of that as a small car.

That's $100 better than I have for the 9th to the 18th, for an intermediate. Car rental rates are just really awful this year.

Have you thought about renting from outside of the airport? We need a van and the cheapest I could get for 11-14 thru 11-22 was $350. I am using ME from the airport and then picking up our minivan from Dollar at the Sun Regal in Downtown Disney on the 15th. Dropped the rate to $250...woo hoo!!! I can handle being without a car for a day to save $100. I also used the KISS2 code. The taxes they charge for renting from the airport are CRAZY!!!

about $33 a day is not too bad. I would go with it if you have to rent a car.
