Car rentals in January?

Maybe it's too early for any real discounted rates, but I can't seem to find anything for much under $200/wk in January. I'm going to keep checking but I wondered, if you've book a rental already, what kind of price you got.

My dates are 1/23-2/1 and I am at $267.00 for National Intermediate size.

I have gotten better rates previously for this time of year so I just keep checking and as new discounts come up I will try to apply them. The figure I'm at now is the lowest I have been able to get since I started checking in May because most coupons only run to the end of 05 and I need to wait for the 06 ones to come up.

I got a rate of $130 taxes included for the week of Jan 8th-15th.

We got a mid-size for 11 days for $203.73 (Jan 11-22). I've checked Thrifty prices again since then and they've gone up considerably. I wouldn't think they would start reducing the prices until the November timeframe. I'm going to keep checking every week though.

That actually sounds like a pretty good deal for 11 days, mid-size car. I'm doing 8 days and only need something small. I've never paid more than $150 in the past for a similar rental so I'm hoping there will be specials before January. Till then, I'll keep checking, too!

I got a Intermediate car from National for January 11-18 from Disney Car Care Center (Emerald Counter) for $159.79 plus taxes and fees came up to 188.66. I was able to bring it down to $167.36 with Entertainment card. Which is more then I want to pay but I did book it for "Just in case I can't do better" if I can get a better deal then I will cancel this one and rebook it. I was always able to do better then this so I will keep my fingers crossed for the future.

Thrifty is currently offering a full-size car for January for $120.99/week plus tax, mid-size is $92.99. I booked a full-size from January 3-13 for $235 with all taxes. You can also use the code: WMRT for an additional 10% off but I have noticed lately that Thrifty's rates are sometimes lower without the code.
