Car rentals any cheaper thru MS???

DH & I will be taking our first trip 'home' to SSR on Nov. 8th. We plan to rent a car at the Airport, spend a few days in Orlando and then drop the car off at one of the Car rental agencies on Disney property.

Can anyone advise if it is cheaper to go thru MS or thru the rental companies themselves. Does anyone know what kind of discount DVC members get with the different rental car agencies??

Could really use your expertise.

It's not any cheaper to rent thru MS, just more convenient. Also, I don't think you can use discount codes (like those listed on www.mousesavers.com) when using MS for your car rental ressie. I would think going directly thru the Rental car companies' websites might be your best bet. There is no DVC member discount on car rentals, that I know of at least.

Alamo is the official rental car company now at Disney. If you have a Disney Visa and use their codes, the price goes down substantially. I just rented a minivan including taxes for a week for $192. Without the codes and coupons, it was $300 more! Good luck!

I have actually seen posts here from people who claimed they got a better rate from MS than anywhere else. Not sure if they were looking for the best codes independently or not.

We usually drive, so unfortunately I can't give any first-hand accounts. It's probably at least worth a (toll-free) phone call for any extended rental.
