Car rental?

Do any of the major rental companies (Alamo, etc.) have rental offices at the US resorts?

I found that Alamo is at Sheraton Universal at 5905 International Drive. We found the best rate at Alamo and wanted to return the car somewhere near the Universal resorts because we won't need our car there and don't want to pay $15/day to park a car we're not using! I checked at mearstransportation.com, and it looks like the estimated cab far is under $6 and that it's under 2 miles. Does this sound right? If so, I think we'll drop our car off there and just take a cab to RPR and then take a cab back to the airport after our Universal stay.

We're doing Disney for the first part of our trip and want the car for that part, but don't want it at Universal. I've calculated a savings of $130 taking into account the reduced car rental, cost increase for 2 cab trips, and parking savings at the Universal resort.

Just thought the Alamo information at Sheraton might help someone else in a similar situation. We're spending 5 nights at RPR and don't anticipate needing our car there at all.

Does my plan sound reasonable? Any flaws I've missed?

Hertz i think are at all 3 onsite resorts. I enquired last year about prices , but the seemed expensive.
Barb rents a car from offsite when she is there, i think its a short walk from RPR, and they are apparently much cheaper, if she is on later i am sure she will post details.

Just across the street (behind) from PBH is DoubleTree Hotel (w/ Avis) and Holiday Inn Universal (w/ Budget)... And, rpbert is right. We are picking the car up at MCO and using it for 9 days before going to Universal (staying at PBH) and returning it to the Holiday Inn.

We use that Budget every year.

The walk from Holiday Inn/DoubleTree to the PBH is comparable to the walk from RPR to the parks....maybe 10 min...if that?
