Car rental

Going through Alamo (I haven't got round to the others yet) it looks as though I could rent a full size car, for 21 days, 23rd March - 13th April, for £278

Presumably I could then re-new my insurance4carhire annual policy and save myself about £40?

Am I doing this right? I'd hate to get to the airport and find I'd messed up

Just checked the other companies and they're all coming out at around £400 (before ins)

If anyone has time would they mind checking out Alamo for me, through the link, to make sure I've got it right?

There's nothing excluding non US citizens is there? I'm sure there isn't, just wanted to make sure you had checked

There doesn't seem to be anything excluding non US citizens.
On the search page it asks which country you live in and then went on to quote the price in both dollars and pounds

It seems that I've, inadvertantly, booked the car anyway - just by looking round the site
I've printed off my rental number, along with the price of £274.51, and have had to leave nothing in the way of deposit etc
I didn't have to leave cc details or anything.
All it says I have to do is take my passport and driving license when I collect the car and I have a direct link to cancel, or make modifications to my rental.

Just got to re-new my insurance 4carhire policy now

It is always a good idea to shop around before you do a car hire. Many of the companies will beat the competition's prices if you call them and tell them what another company is offering. Sometimes you can even get a free upgrade. My favorite company to use for car hire is Budget. They always give very good rates, their cars have unlimited mileage and you can drop the car off anywhere in Florida at no additional charge. You really get the best deals by either calling the locations direct or booking through your guest service desk in your hotel.
Just a note, VERY RARELY will all the cars in town be booked up so don't worry about that.

Im not sure if going through this company includes all the Insurances etc, but going through my normal CSMA discounted Alamo, my 3 week minivan hire this year comes to £549, but on this site its £483, which is quite some saving.

I haven't added the insurance as I'm going to re-new my annual insurance4carhire policy

The price of £263 (I added another 15% code ), for a 4 door, full sized car, does include all state taxes though
Another £103 for the annual policy comes out a lot lower than the £420, min, costing I've been finding

Well, I've kept an eye on the Transportation Board and just booked a 7 seater 'Mini Van', 21 days, for £208, using this link:

I believe that you don't need to be a Costco member to book a car online and there doesn't appear to be anything excluding non US drivers

I've printed everything off and am going to give it a go anyway.
As momof3disneyholics says, it's doubtful they'll run out of cars if there's a problem
