Car Rental Tip**L&M Car Rental**

Every trip to Orlando, my DH and I rent a car for our trip. I read in a guide book (cant remember which one) that if you will stop by L&M car rental (they have a desk in Orlando International) they will one up your car reservation. Last year we were in FL for 12 days and had a reservation for a mid-size car @ around $11.00 a day. We stopped by L&M and they honored the same price that we had but they gave us a MINI-VAN!!!! . The year before we had a reservation for an intermediate?? but we got a full size car for the same price. They have not disappointed us so far, so we will give them a chance at our business this trip too. The Mini-van was a definite plus for us since we have 2 kids and a grandmother in tow. I have my fingers crossed that we can get a mini-van again..

Glad you have had good luck with them. They are listed as one of the agencies with the most complaints on Mousesavers.com, so I never even considered them. It's always nice to have another choice.

We got upgraded to a minivan in May from Alamo at Sanford airport. I paid $68 total for a minivan for three days.

We have had good luck so far so we will keep with it until we don"t. Other than being a little on the slow side to check in, everything has been fine. Maybe the reason that they offer to match/upgrade ect is because they are on the list..who knows. They have always been very nice to us..we will see in a few days if I stand corrected

L&M at one time had a reputation of simply not honoring reservations.

I'm not sure whether that applied only to those who owned no collision-insured car back at home and who also declined L&M's collision coverage under which conditions L&M (and also Payless and EZ and a few others) publish that they reserve the right not to rent to you.

We have actually never had a reservation with L&M, we go to them to see if they will match the reservation rate that we have with another company. I would be completely LIVID if they pulled that crap on me. I do know that they have changed some rules regarding car rentals and insurance coverage ect..luckily we have good insurance.

We have had excellent service and competitive prices with L&M. We do make advanced reservations with them and it is always honored. They do have a reputation for requiring insurance but if you just bring proof they will waive it. We have never gotten a hard sell or had any issues with price over the past 10 or so years renting at least once a year.
