Car rental through Priceline, do you think they'll let me pick up a few hours early?

I rented a van through PL from Hertz at Providence airport. My DD has to give me a ride to the airport to pick it up, then we have to drive an hour home to pick up the rest of the family ( we won't all fit in one vehicle ). Because of a work conflict she has to drop me at the airport 2 hours before my reservation pick up time. Do you think they will let me pick up that early? I did call Hertz and they said they can't change any reservation made through Pl, but they didn't say no either. FWIW, my rental time is 9 days plus 4 hours and I paid for 10 days, so I wouldn't be going over there. I've picked up cars before in Orlando 45 min to an hour early, but don't know if 2 hours is pushing it. :confused3

Sorry MODS, please move

It will be fine. You'll just need it back by that same time on the last day.

Thanks. Has anyone ever done this? I have to be dropped that early anyway, so I will try:rolleyes:

...you're renting a 'specialty' vehicle and they are cutting the window between the last return and your rental very close, or the 'expected return' prior to you comes in late. I don't envision that being a problem. The only time I ever had a problem with picking up a rental was when requesting a 4WD vehicle for use in Kansas City, due to winter weather conditions. They were in high demand and short supply. Fortunately, I had had the foresight to specifically reserve one, but, even still, it took a little time to wait for one to be 'turned around' after the prior rental. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I did this last month in New Orleans. I had paid for 8 days on hotwire and my flight ended up changing...to 8 hours earlier than my original scheduled arrival. I, too, had Hertz and got nowhere by calling them. They told me that they'd charge me the regular rate for a full day for those 8 hours, but when I dropped of the car later (on the original time), I was never charged extra.

Thanks everyone for your replies. We're renting a van on a Thurday (which probably wouldn't be in demand for business travel), so I'm guessing we'll be okay.
