Car Rental: Sam's Club codes really work!

It's worth picking up the travel booklet at the membership services desk at Sam's.

Alamo full-sized car, eight days 1/20 - 1/28 before coupon $266.
After coupon $215.

I think I did pretty good......I hope.

I don't know if you would be interested in an SUV but if you go to alamo and use the walmart code 430710 you could get a chevy equinox for under $200. Also, I think Alamo has a coupon on their website for another $15 off and if you prepay you save another 15%.

I have an SUV booked for Pres Week and with the above code/coupon and prepay option, it comes out to about $140

I've been using the Sam's Club coupons and codes for several years now to good effect.

I have found that they give you particularly good deals from Thrifty. Although Thrifty is not on-airport, it is very close and only takes about 5 minutes to get there on the shuttle bus.

I have also gotten good deals with the Sam's Club coupons at National and Dollar.

I drive a yukon xl......a Equinox would scare me.

My children and I walked away from a terrible accident two years ago where (due to a reckless freeway driver) our Tahoe rolled and ended up being totaled. I like my cars BIG and being able to walk away, I have no quams about price, insurance and gas.

Can a Equinox even be classed as a SUV?

I was also thinking about the prepay. Can I do this after the fact that I have a ressie?

The full size car we got was a Checy Impala. It was roomy but I would not equate it with the size of any SUV that I know of. I have seen Chevy Equinoxs and they seem to be a decent size---not as big as a Tahoe or anything like that but bigger than a full size car. I'm not into those tiny things they call SUVs and the Equinox did not seem to be small at all.
