Car rental return time

Kinda a silly question but what happens if you return your car earlier than the time on your reservation? Our flights changed and we now have to be at the airport 1 1/2hrs earlier. Do they charge you extra? Reservation is with Thrifty.

We have returned cars 45 minutes early and never had any problem. You can always call to verify. I know Dollar/Thrifty hold the car for 6 hours for a pickup, so hopefully you will be fine.

We have had to return a car 24 hours in advance due to an approaching hurricane. They didn't charge me anything extra. You should be all set returning it a couple hours early.

It depends a little on your rate. If you were on a week rate and returning the car early (say a week is a 5-7 day rental- eg 120 to 148 hours- and you return the car at 118 hours, you won't have had the car for a week and it would default to the daily rate.

It is a weekly rate plus an additional 5 extra days. Only asking as we got such a good deal I do not want to have to cancel. Total was $170.00 all taxes in!! I guess I will just call them and find out.

You should be fine. I don't see anything that could trigger a rate change. You'll still pay for the full 12 days and the rental agency gets to turn the car around a little faster.
