Hi,

Has anyone gotten a good rate on a rental car at National for November 19th through the 26th? Even with codes I am getting rates of high twos and low threes for compact cars.

I tried your dates with the American Express code (5125601) or the Carlson Code (5760339), I got $190 for a compact. You can't use the $20 entertainment coupon with compact. It would be $183 for an intermediate with the coupon.

Hi,

Thanks for posting this code. I was able to book an intermedate car for a total of $236.20 inc taxes and fees with this code. By far the best rate of any of the codes that I tried. Thanks again for the Am Ex Code.

Just wanted to add: keep checking rates frequently. Car rental rates fluctuate daily sometimes, and often decrease the closer you get, (to a certain point). They may come down by then. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. Will do.

Keep playing with codes and checking rates. I did and I was able to get a Full size nov8th-14th for $124. I was shocked.. So as you can imagine I just kept that as my reservation and canceled my old one. Later I went back to check it and it still set at that rate. But it took me a couple of weeks, through-out different times of the day before I achieved it. Heck I would get different quotes using the same codes and only have a 5mins difference of doing the "search". Happy hunting, and hope your search is succesful. :wave2:

Thanks FigmentGuy. Do you have any suggested Contract IDs to try?

for our trip Nov. 5-12. I have a full sized booked at $109.77 incl. all taxes and fees using the Ent. coupon and Priceless code. Now I started with a higher rate and checked over time and when this one came through, I booked and cancelled the others. When I've checked on and off through the months, the rate just got higher and higher. I realize that this is a terrific rate and don't think I'll do much better, but the obsessive planner in me will look for a better deal until the night before we leave.

I recently rented an intermediate off the aisle for our June trip and it was fine. So I figured I would try an intermediate for our Nov. trip but the rate is in the $200's so I'm sticking with my cheap full sized ressie for now.

I figure the closer we get to the date of travel, the more we'll see the rates change. As for the OP, you're ressie is during Thanksgiving week and I'm not sure that will drop all that much. But you should check periodically anyway.

Good luck.

hi I'm going in Oct 13-20 looking for good codes. cheapest I can get is on National with priceless and entertainment code $ 169. intermediate. anyone with better codes? Any help appreciated. :earsgirl:

That's a pretty decent rate. I booked Oct 1 -6 and used the same codes as you. My ressie is $186 for an intermediate, I guess because it's less than a week. I check every day or two, though, to see if it goes down.

I discovered that it is better to book for a week the rates are less....go figure. Also to book an intermediate rather than a compact. UD I was just shopping on another site(www.sidestep.com) and saw some good rates for my time on Budget. Do you have an entertainment book? I added a coupon and got an intermediate SUV for 133. I think you can book a week and return early....does any one else know. Also are you staying at Disney or off. If at Disney they have a pick up at Doubletree across from DTD. :earsgirl:

I have heard (never had any personal experience) that if you book a week but return the car early, you will be charged a "penalty" which would probably amount to the difference in rates. Anyone know for sure?

I too like janets am just using my entertainment book coupon and the prcless contract ID........ I think the coupon I got from the coupon book can be found/printed off the national website even. (the ent coupon just knocks off $20). I also found that fiddling around with the days has helped also... ie. look up a 7 day rental and pick it up on a tues, then try a wed, then try a monday. If your vacation allows that, then you might find a good cheap rate? I think its like airline tickets, dependent on the day of the week it may be cheaper? Again, good luck. :earsboy:
