Hi,

Thinking of renting a car at MCO and then returning it at WDW when we meet up with some friends. I am already aware of Disney's free transportation...for this mini-stay, renting a car makes more sense for us. When we leave WDW with friends we will be heading to Legoland...going back to MCO would be SLIGHTLY out of the way...so I think returning at Disney's Rental location (Car Care Center) would be better...but would like to hear about people's experiences...was this WAY more expensive to do? Was it easy?

THANKS

Happy Dis-planning!

It's really easy to do, and not really that much more expensive. The rate won't vary that much. Just check the pricing on Alamo website when making the reservation.
After you return it you can arrange for their shuttle to take you back to your resort, or your friends can pick you up there.

Just a FYI, you did not say where you are staying, soooo, you need to be aware that this shuttle service is for guests staying at a Disney resort or going to a park after returning the vehicle.

Super Easy... Don't waste time going to the airport. No it does not cost and arm and a leg to do this. In Florida you can drop an Alamo car off at a different location and NOT be charged the one way fee!

Awesome on no one way fee...now i just need to find a discount that will apply to a one day rental...

You need to price things out. Every rental is different, I have found. Sometimes it's cheaper to return to the airport, sometimes it isn't. We've done it both ways, depending on which way is cheapest, honestly.

One day discounts are usually unheard of. If you are renting on a weekend day you might be about to score a lower rate than if you are renting on a weekday. Weekday rentals are usually very pricey.

I found th best discounts with loyalty programs. I was an Alamo insiders, recent trip was Thrifty Blue Chip. For a Chrysler 200 8.2 days, I paid 122.26.

The best part was skipping the ouster, my car was sitting in th Le. If I was not happy with that car an option to go to the in lot kiosk/office site. The car was fine. 4,000 miles on it, I walked around taking pics of dings, or marks.

I was out of the airport and in the car leaving in 10 minutes. They had a $250 hold until returned which was not a big deal. This was the easiest rental since my Alamo Silver membership years ago.

Return, was upper easy in just minutes. The B terminal, pull in the first slot- Thrifty/Dollar return. On my way to gates and security.
Heads up, late Saturday afternoon the TSA check point was about 1-2 hrs long at times.

There are usually pretty decent discounts available for weekend rentals and weekly rentals. The OP is looking for one or two day rental discounts.

Not sure if it matters, but there are also car rental locations at some of the hotels in Downtown Disney (Avis at the Hilton, Dollar at Holiday Inn, Wyndham). Depends on what your plans are.
