For over two months I have been looking for a "great price" on a car rental for our dates. I have a compact for $192.17 from Dollar. I have read everythread on this board about car rentals since I started looking and everyone seems to express the fact that the prices are going down but every time I try the codes and companies they are getting great deals from all I get is something at least $50 more than what I already have. Some have been over $100 more. So my question is, is the rate I have a great rate? Or will my rate not come down because it is Memorial Day week? I always have been told that it is cheap to rent a car in Orlando, maybe $15 a day. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank for any input.

I'm bumping this because I'm in the same situation. We're paying more this year ($189 vs. $120 for a compact through Dollar) than we have before from MCO. Our dates are May 13-21 and I'm beginning to wonder if any "great rates" will show up in time.

I have a compact reserved with Dollar for 5/23-5/28 for $129.31. I made the reservation on 3/15. I used the rate code KISS I found on Mousesavers. I have ot been able to get it cheaper than that. :)

Just did my dailey check at Dollar and the price for my dates is up by $50. sure am glad I already have a reservation even though I don't think it is at the best price.
