Car rental- LAX

Just a heads up to everyone - since I have done 4 weeks of research - lol
If you are doing a car rental from LAX in April the very best prices are available from Alamo. I have been checking Priceline, Hotwire and each rental company seperately etc and by choosing *compact* and *prepay* and getting a *free upgrade* I am paying ony $17 per day for STANDARD car The rates from HW & PL can be slightly less for lower grade cars = but the fees are higher. Just heads up! Hope it helps someone else

Wow, thanks! I thought I was getting a great deal from Advantage, but now I will go back and check with Alamo Every dollar counts for us!

We had a great deal through Dollar. I had booked a car last fall when there was a HUGE price difference between Dollar and other companies. I ended up making a new reservation days before we left because I could have the same class car for around $100 LESS! Cancelled my old reservation without a problem. Don't know if checking closer to when you leave will help all the time, but it certainly did for us!
