We are staying at CBR for 3 nights before leaving on our Disney Western cruise. We would like to rent a car at the airport and possibly return it somewhere in the Disney Resort area. This way we could use Disney transportation back to our resort. We have our transportation arranged to get to the port the next morning and do not need the car. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I know that there is a National Car Rental desk and area at the Swan & Dolphin and a Thrifty at the Grovesnor at DTD.

Hope this helps. :D

The Car Care Center (next to MK) has a National and Alamo desk. That is where I rent each time I visit.

We also are staying at WDW before our Western cruise. I am renting a car thru Budget at the airport and then returning at Cape Canaveral and then taking DCL transportation back to the airport after the cruise. I think it would be cheaper for you to keep the car and drive to the port rather than using DCL buses round-trip. My rate is $33/day for an intermediate car.

I think national is too comfortable in thier "relationship" with Disney.

We have consistantly found them to be really rude and under staffed, causing the longest waits in line.

Once we booked with a discount, through Dinsey Club (I think), and they didnt want to honor it because I didnt bring the printout. But they had one on the desk and I showed them that no where does it say you needed present it to get the discount. The counter woman refused to honor it and when we asked her to get a supervisor, she literally ignored us and fiddled with the desk. We had to get loud just to get her to call someone.

However, all the other rental car desks seems to be over staffed and very effecient. I cant remember if it was alamo or budget, that we used last time, but we had no problems and quick service. Our friends used L&M and had great service too.

I've used national during many visits without any problem at all....except this trip as I'm needing a 2 week rental at Christmas and Nationals rate was way to high...

This is for hawkrn:

Where do you return the car at Port Canaveral? We are in the same situation of spending time at the parks, then a week-long cruise, and I don't want to pay for a car to sit in the lot for a week at the ship dock.

Also, if you don't book the cruise through Disney, can you still get the DCL bus from/to the airport?

GoofyB,
The actual drop-off location on the Budget site is "cocoa beach" or astronaut blvd. If you go to Dave's DCL site: www.dcltribute.com, he has a map that shows where Budget is. We booked thru AAA and my TA just told them we need 1 way transfer back to the ship. So you should be able to go thru whatever company you booked thru!
