We are going to universal on Sunday and mon and will be at MK on Saturday until midnight. The Disney car care center hours are from 08-6 so they won't be the best hours for us to get the car early and make it to universal at 0900 will we? We would need the shuttle to get us to and from the car care place as well. We.are a family of five and taxi and mears I believe would be more expensive. Looks like a rental care for 2 days is a little over a hundred bucks. If you have
A better way to transport to universal please share!
Thanks!

Are you just heading to US/IoA on two different days, or are you spending the night there as well??? That is going to make a difference.
A rental car may be your best bet...even though you have to pay for parking.

The driver/credit card holder in your party may have to sacrifice some park time Saturday to go rent the car; plus, of course, paying for an additional day. Also check the rates at the Dolphin, or at least returning the car there. Even though the counter closes at 4, rentals can be returned to Valet Services after that.

We are not staying the night at universal, we are heading back to POR then Going back to Universal the next morning.we are planning a two day car rental just not sure how should go about picking it up and returning it with the car care service hours from 8-6
Thanks

So if we rent from the dolphin we could take a bus from there (downtown disney)to POR after we return the car, but I don't think buses run to downtown disney early in the morning in order to pick it up on Sunday before we go to universal

This is one of the problems of getting to US/IoA. IF you're going to try to really minimize costs, you are going to have a hard time getting there early, to pick up the car, and then later in the evening to drop it off.
So, you want to go on Sun and Mon...but will be out late on Sat. You may just want to bite the bullet and rent it on Sat. You can go to Epcot, do the paperwork mid-afternoon. Then, back to MK for the remainder of the night. Then, take the bus to the Dolphin, from MK. Hand the car keys to valet..they will bring the car around for you and off you go. Drive to POR, then off to US/IoA early Sunday. On Monday...drive from US back to the Dolphin, hand the car/keys back to valet and then head back to DTD and the boat to POR.

If you just can't afford the Sat rental (and sometimes it can be a bit cheaper with a Sat night rental included, so check it out), then you can take the bus to DHS, early in the morning on Sunday, from POR...the bus should start by 6:30. Then walk over to the Dolphin...about 15 or so mins along the canal on a nice sidewalk. Rent the car as soon as the counter opens and off you go.

Thank you!! I was hoping for alternatives! so the dolphin sounds better than the car care center for us staying at POR. I appreciate your advice!!
