Car rental from DL to SW

I am thinking I can get away without a car for our time at DL, but we'll need to get down to Sea World for a few days too, and then to the airport in San Diego.

Anyone know of an easy way to do this? And better yet, an inexpensive way?

I tried to find a rental car cheap with pickup in San Diego and drop off in Orange County - and am pretty good at finding good deals - but the 1 way rentals here are crazy. You may be better off taking the Amtrak train from Anaheim or Fullerton to San Diego and renting a car down there - basically depends on how many are travelling, since the train isn't that cheap either (AAA discounts available, sometimes they do kids free specials). They have a pretty good transit system down there - trolleys and buses, so you may even be able to get by w/o a car but it would take some investigating. $5 buys you a day pass for the trolley.

Yes, it is not easy. We ended up just flying into and out of the same airport and dealing with the driving ie/flew into LAX, drove down to San Diego for 4 days then drove back up and basically parked at DL for 3 days then drove back to LAX and flew home. That way I was able to get a weekly car rental rate and it worked out well.

It was a bit of a pain though and made me decide that we won't be doing San Diego and DL on the same trip again!
