I am in need of advice! My finance and I are going to Disney for our Planning Session in June. We will be using ME to and from the MCO airport. I would like to rent a car while we are there for one day. *Pick up in the afternoon and return the following day / 24 hours.* We will only need the car for transportation to our engagement photos and to go to Carolyn Allens to pick out my fiances' tux.

What is the best way to do this? We are staying on property. Is there a company that would drop off the car/meet us at the resort? Is there a car rental place close to Downtown Disney we can walk to? I am at a loss and really do not want to rent a car the whole time we are down there...we only plan to use it twice. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! :cool1:

There is a car rental desk at the dolphin I believe. It's an Alamo desk. Reseve it online for pickup there then take the busses to a park then transfer over to a dolphin bus. Mousesavers always has some codes for Alamo rentals. Check there for a good deal. I rented an Alamo car in Vegas for 5 days for $70 in December using codes I found on mousesavers and the transportation board here on the DIS

MouseSavers says the easiest option is to rent from Alamo or National at the WDW Car Care Center, near the Magic Kingdom, because the Alamo/National desk at the Dolphin has limited hours. A shuttle will pick you up from your Disney resort and take you over there. You can schedule the shuttle up to 24 hours beforehand by calling (407) 824-3470, or you can go to the front desk about half an hour before your car pickup time and ask them to call the shuttle for you.

There are also car rental counters at several of the Downtown Disney-area hotels and Shades of Green, but only Enterprise at Royal Plaza will pick you up.

THANK YOU girli565 & Carrie!!! :worship: You ladies have helped reduce some of my stress...now I just need to reserve a car. :goodvibes

either that or a cab would be super easy too - door to door! it isn't far to carolyn allens so it wouldn't be much if it's just a one day thing anyway!!

have fun!

I just wanted to say I think this is a great idea and something we should have done. We were late to both our planning session and tasting because of relying on Disney transportation, and we left ourselves an hour each time! I felt horrible being late, and I think it would have been very worth the money to rent a car for one day.
