Car Rental for a day trip questions

Here's the scenario:

We're staying at WL. I have to attend a morning meeting at Gaylord Palms which ends at 9:00 AM. Once it's over, we plan to drive out to see a spring training baseball game on the east coast.

I'm planning on getting a cab from WL to GP in the morning. On the way back, I'm planning to get a cab from GP to the Disney car care center and then picking up a car for the day from Alamo. I'll then head over to WL and grab the family.

When we get back (about 7:00 at night) , I plan to drop the car off and catch a shuttle back to the resort.

Is this the best plan? Should I drop the family off at WL first before returning the car?

Double check what times the Care Center is open. According to my reservation sheet, it closes at 6:00 on Sat and Sun, and at 8 Mon-Fri.
