Car rental deals for AFTER December?

I've just spent a considerable amount of time looking for deals on rental cars for Jan/Feb. There are some pretty good deals, codes and coupons, but they all end in December of this year. Does anyone know how the history of this works? Will they post some new ones good for the new year? I'm looking for a minivan for a full week but I still get close to $300 with all the fees, taxes, etc. I was looking to get it down to at least under $250 with everything included.
Also, has anyone with a family of 5 ever done anything else besides a minivan? I am afraid with all of us, luggage and stroller, we wouldn't fit into anything else.....any suggestions on keeping our cost down?

I'd like to know this also. So far the best code I've found for January is for Dollar and its on mousesavers. I'd like to try to beat it...but I'm satisfied at my $140 compact for the week $180 for taxes and everything.

I used the entertainment book for national for 9 days mid=size suv (I also used the $20 coupon in there) - it was 248 with all taxes - this was for clearwater airport - not sure why the suv's were cheaper but they were - maybe they have more of them. This is for 4/5-4/14 over easter.
