Car Rental / Car Seats?

This will be our first time renting a car... how does that work with car seats? Do we have to bring our own on the airline or does the car rental company provide them? We only use the booster type (not like a carrier or anything). Thanks!

if you want to rent them from the car rental agency you can and the price varies with each company(usually around $10 per day on a first come first serve basis, they will not guarantee that they have anywhen you arrive but they usually have piles of them in parking garage) We always bring our own as it becomes quite expensive.

Thanks! I've only flown twice before so can you bring the carseats on as a carry on? We're flying Southwest.

I personally would not bag check my car seat unless it was in a hard case. I wouldn't want anything to happen to it that would damage it. I have used my carseats on the airplane a few times. You need to make sure they have an FAA sticker on them. Or you can gate check it.

Are they car seats or boosters? If boosters backless or full? You Gould be able to gate check full car seats or boosters. I don't know if they can be carried on because they may not fit in the overhead bin. If they are the backless, that is easy. Pop them in the overhead or under the seat in front.

They're full boosters unfortunately. Thanks for the info. I would've had no idea and trying to search the airlines website is like finding a needle in a haystack.
