Has i have already posted Bex is getting her first car although she hasn't past her test the idea is DH can take her out in it to get plenty of practice(our car is too powerful for her to drive). Can anyone suggest an insurance company who are reasonable? The best quote so far is with churchill.

hi, go to gocompare.com if you enter the details they search all the insurance companies for you and dont charge :)

I agree with above, use a search site to do the donkey work for you. have you tried www.moneysavingexpert.com -have a section on insurance and the best places to go. hope you get a good quote!

DW tried GoCompare.com and she found that Shiela's Wheels came out cheaper than her current AA policy, with better cover (protected no claims and hire car) - it was nearly £80 cheaper.

Not sure how they are with young learner drivers though - I know I made a few preliminary enquiries for my DD and I nearly fell of the chair at the cost :scared1:

You will not believe it but i went on gocompare a couple of weeks ago when she first saw the car and the cheapest quote was over £2000. I went onto churchill yesterday and they have quoted £1099. Not a bad difference eh!!!

wow big difference, i remember when i went looking for mine first time round.
went to loads of insurance shops, the difference was over £1200 :rotfl2:

just got a quote with Quinn direct for £835 thats with DH on the policy too. Has anyone ever used them?

The cost of insurance is unbelievable. We got our 17 year old DD a Ford Ka for her birthday, and the insurance is about £900 for her, me and her dad on it. We got ours with Tesco :thumbsup2

The only problem with some of the search sites are that not all insurance companies are on there as some won't allow it & I have found that it usually cheaper to go to the insuarnce company direct rather then through the searches.

Have you tried Tesco? as many of my friends found them cheapest when they got their first car.
