I plan on driving my car up to do the program and I know I have to get a permit to have it parked at the apartment complex but I have one question because I'm slightly confused.

I know I need to bring my license, insurance and registration but...the insurance is under my dad's name cause we are all on the same plan. Will they accept that because I hear it has to be under your name.

Thank you!

I am in the same situation. The insurance does not have to be under your name. You just have to present documentation that shows you are covered under the policy. In my case, only my dad's name was on my proof of insurance card (the card you would show if you were pulled over). I just called my insurance company requested a new card with both his and my name on it. Good luck!

When I went down there, my insurance had to have my name on it. So it said mine and my dad's. They didn't accept it when it was under my parents so my dad had to run out get a new one and fax it to me.

As someone already said, it needs to have your name on it.

So no, they will not accept it. They will end up giving you a temporary parking permit and you have to then have something faxed down before the permit expires. It is easier to ask them for another card with your name on it.
