Car Hire Options at Miami Airport?

Having watched the flight prices daily since our trip last October, we have decided to book BA LHR to Miami, price comparable to indirect flight to Orlando and DH doesn't mind the drive.

Just wondering about Car hire options at Miami Airport, Are they all offsite, needing a shuttle bus to collect the car?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

All the car hire firms are clustered just east of the airport, so you do need to get a shuttle.
That said, the shuttles are frequent and the distances are short so it's not a problem, certainly nothing that would put me off flying to Miami. I haven't flown to MCO for quite a while so I don't know about there, but many airports in the US have car rental locations offsite, so Miami isn't unusual in that respect.

Cool, thanks! This new place is located more or less where the car hire locations already were, but the single shuttle will really help.
When the MIA Mover gets going then it will be super cool!

We went Heathrow to Miami years ago, I must admit I got lost after coming out of the car-hire place.

A sat-nav would have been a real help.

The drive was easy once on the toll road, but not exactly exciting.

Worked out about $15 in tolls.

Looking at going into Tampa this year.

We have done Tampa - last year. That was really easy!
