Car hire insurance?

Hi,

I am looking at car hire for our upcoming October trip and confused over the car insurance. Does anyone take this out or just go with the basic CDW cover?

I'm sure last time I booked with Alamo they did not add anything on. I can get the car hire with them for £148 but no mention of any insurance so I'm worried we will be charged it over there. I can't remember if we were charged any extra in resort!

Holiday autos are £167 including their total maximum cover. It's only £20 so I'm thinking of going with holiday autos. Anyone have any experience with holiday autos.

The car is to be picked up at the Dolphin hotel Orlando and use is minimal, shops and parks just for 7 days. Is the extra insurance necessary? For £20 would you just get it for peace of mind?

Thanks for any input.

Nic

I always book with Alamo and it always includes fully inclusive insurance but that's written in big letters all over the screen did you not see that on your booking?

It was 3 years ago we last went to Disney and I can't remember what was on the booking screen. When I quote I don't see anything to say any insurance is included unless I'm not noticing it!! I will take another look. Maybe that's how holiday autos get their bookings, make the price look good then get you to add the insurance on!

Thanks

If you post dates & size of car I will look at best price fully insured for you.

Hello I just did a dummy run for you on Alamo UK. When you get to screen 3 of 5 it shows you the fully inclusive insurance and you can tap the link to get the details of what that includes. It also includes an additional driver as standard.

I know there are cheaper deals out there but I would highly recommend booking in line via Alamo. We have only ever had outstanding service. No hard sell for extras. Very efficient pick up and extraordinarily efficient drop off. You can do on line check in too for the UK. We are usually less than 10 minutes from entering the Alamo car lot to driving out.

Oh I see that now, how silly of me not to notice it!!
so it says it has'Collision Damage Waiver Full Extended Protection' this I presume covers window, tyres, doors.

Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Hi, thanks
I'm looking for October 30 - November 7 mid SUV pick up disney dolphin hotel.
Best price I can get is £148 with Alamo via my works website.

Thanks again

Alamo are giving 15% off UK pre paid bookings though Quidco. Do check their site daily. The rates fluctuate. I'd say you've got an okay price there especially if you can get that rate and 15% cash back.

How you getting it so low? a search on Alamo.co.uk is showing £183.97
Alamo Brits less 6.5% Quidco = £154.80

Can't see £148.
ETA I see you say thru works, do they give you discount?
